Burningboy RISE TO MEET YOU’ VIDEO COMING SOON + ep now available on iTunes.

‘DARK MONTHS EP’. Available now on iTunes. + ‘RISE TO MEET YOU’ VIDEO COMING SOON.

‘The Dark Months’ EP is the debut release written and performed by Irish artist Terry Byrne under the guise of ‘Burningboy’. The EP was recorded in two intensive days as winter was waking around the picturesque surroundings of the Golden Egg Studio, in Co.Laois. The sound captured in the recording is warm and organic throughout the seasonal imagery of the songs themselves.

‘Burningboy’ has supported fellow luminaries such as Snow Patrol and Academy Award Winner Glen Hansard, among many of Ireland’s greats. His EP, which was released earlier this year, has received National airplay across Irish Radio. Dan Hegarty (2FM) said, “Terry Byrne is one of those performers that don’t know how good they are. His modesty is only outshined by his talent. The Session he recorded for my show was excellent – I’m really looking forward to hearing his album.”

Terry’s music is a captivating blend of folksy sincerity served up with some very catchy melodies, sometimes quirky, sometimes darkly atmospheric and dramatic. His fire fueled by an old box of vinyl he’s had since childhood that holds works from Motown to sixties Pop, Country, Folk and Punk. The essence of his voice is on a sincere, soulful plain. As a performer he draws upon an avalanche of emotions. His music is narrative to his life and echo’s an empathy to those like him, which take solace in the age old power of song.

There is an honesty and maturity to ‘The Dark Months’ that harkens back to good old-fashioned songs of substance. ‘Only holding you could hold me down, through this storm that I should weather’, a line taken from opening track ‘Poppies’, carves the tone of the lyrical honesty to this collection. ’ I can’t face another year without your song in my ear, I miss you’. From track 2, ‘Tenderheart’ is a reminder that there should always be a space to remember good times and the people we shared them with. Track 3. ‘Tributary’, draws you in with its sweeping melody and intimate vocal. It’s stripped down, cavernous sound really creates a feeling that you are in the room with the artist and his guitar. It serves as a quiet before the storm of the EP’s forth and final Track 4. ‘Rise (to meet you)’ builds with percussive guitar playing and a switch to a more direct vocal as the song hurdles to a crescendo with the line ‘We tore down mountains just to stay afloat’, giving a small signal to the sound of the future album that will go into Pre-production in late Spring.

‘The Dark months’ is music for the time you should give yourself. Four songs that offer comfort, understanding and thankfulness for the good that is in our lives and respect for the dark times that we must wade through.

Marilyn Manson : ‘Slo-mo-tion’: Dirtyphonics remix

SLO-MO-TION: out now Dirtyphonics remix: August 20th on Beatport. Exclusive stream and download at RCRDLBL on 16th August for 24 hours http://rcrdlbl.com/2012/08/16/premiere_marilyn_manson_slo_mo_tion_dirtyphonics_remix_

Marilyn Manson is set to release ‘Slo-mo-tion’: Dirtyphonics remix though Cooking Vinyl. The track will be available as an exclusive stream and download at RCRDLBL on 16th August for 24 hours and will also be available from the 20th August on Beatport

“Slo-mo-tion” is the second single taken from Marilyn Manson’s latest album “Born Villain”. “The new record put simply has the ambition and determination of how I started making music in the first place,” Manson says. “It sounds like the first record in that it’s not afraid to do anything. I had to remove myself from my lifestyle and start fresh.”

“It doesn’t really sound like any of my old records. In fact it sort of sounds like what I listened to before I made records — Killing Joke, Joy Division, Revolting Cocks, Bauhaus, Birthday Party…It’s very rhythm-driven. I think this will probably be the grandest concept record of all.”

The tumultuous relationship Marilyn Manson has cultivated with the public through his genre-defying music and anti-status quo message of thinking for oneself has resulted in sold-out tours, protests, legal battles, adoration, hate, more than 50 million records sales, award-winning distilled spirits, several Grammy nominations and, most importantly, a long list of some of the most enduring and powerful singles ever, such as “Lunchbox,” “Get Your Gunn” “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” “The Beautiful People,” “Antichrist Superstar,” “Tourniquet,” “The Dope Show,” “I Don’t Like the Drugs (But the Drugs Like Me),” “The Fight Song,” “Mobscene “Heart-Shaped Glasses,” “Coma White” and “If I Was Your Vampire.”

Marilyn Manson has had astounding success across the globe including three albums being certified platinum and three more certified gold in the USA, in addition to three top ten albums and two number-one albums (Mechanical Animals and The Golden Age of Grotesque).

Manson will be touring with Rob Zombie this November as part of the ‘Twins Of Evil’ tour.

The Lost Brothers to release new album ‘THE PASSING OF THE NIGHT’ SEPT 21st

THE LOST BROTHERS

ALBUM:  ‘THE PASSING OF THE NIGHT’ OUT SEPT 21st

Irish duo The Lost Brothers release their Brendan Benson produced third studio album on Lojinx in the UK & Europe. Label: Lojinx // Cat: LJX048CD

Since forming in Liverpool in 2007, The Lost Brothers have brewed up a steady catalog of well-crafted, melodic songs that hark back to a time when life was simpler. The duo both grew up surrounded by music and continue to take their life-long knowledge of song-craft, and their native Irish roots, and infuse a spirit of whatever music they happen be absorbing at the time. The result is nothing less then a sound totally their own.

Although The Lost Brothers, Oisín Leech and Mark McCausland, are a duo, they consider each record they make to be a collaboration. Their 2008 debut album, ‘Trails Of The Lonely’, was recorded in Portland with M Ward producer Mike Coykendall and is a folk tinged woodland treasure. It’s an album _lled with intricate harmonies and gorgeous melodies while also having an eerie undercurrent of darkness and heartache. NME called it ”otherworldy…8/10”

Their second album, 2011’s ‘So Long John Fante’ was recorded in She_eld with Richard Hawley’s band completing the studio ensemble. It recalls a golden era of rock’n’roll, with luscious strings and pedal steel employed in a beautiful landscape topped by the brothers’ dreamlike harmony singing.

On their new album ‘The Passing Of The Night’ the brothers have further honed their quest of song with the help of Brendan Benson and his gang of merry men. “We’ve toured a fair bit with him, so he ended up helping us make the next LP,” says Leech.

In 2011, the band caught the ear of Benson, who invited them to open for him on some Irish shows. Talk soon turned to recording and a plan was hatched for Benson to record a song or two for the brothers in his Nashville studio. With the wealth of material pouring forth, and the rate in which Benson was laying them down, they quickly realised that what started o_ as a bit of fun was now turning into an album to behold.

It was a fantastic experience,” says Leech. “His approach to recording songs emphasizes hard work. It’s old school, you create the correct atmosphere and then you go to put everything you have into the process. We did it in what was an old record plant outside Nashville. It was an extremely inspiring environment.” Recorded in just 5 days, ‘The Passing Of The Night’ is the sound of The Lost Brothers doing what they do best – making music that all but demands you stop in your tracks and listen.

Blue Moon In September is a dreamy waltz with a David Lynch nightmare in the middle, while Bird In A Cage sounds like a New Orleans street band falling from a bar. Not Now Warden tells of a prisoner’s crushing defeat as he realises his love no longer waits for him. Widow Maker invites you to the morning of a hanging, while Far Side is a letter to an old friend & lover. Hey Miss Fanny, the only song on the record not written by The Lost Brothers, is a Roy Orbison track and was, in fact, suggested to the band by The Orbison estate.

These are songs of desperation, songs of hope, of losing hope, songs to dance to and songs to die to.

Let The Lost Brothers take you on a journey through The Passing Of The Night and when dawn comes you’ll feel battered, bruised, defeated, rejected, lost… but all the better for it.
