A Plastic Rose announce new single, Tour dates and Kerrang awards show in London!

A Plastic Rose have just announced their second musical offering of 2012; ‘BOY RACER’ (Release date June 15th in Ireland/ 18th in Uk). Taken from their eagerly awaited debut album titled: ‘Camera.Shutter.Life’. The album was produced at Manor Park by Neal Calderwood (General Fiasco, Fighting With Wire) and will be released in the summer of 2012 on DidiMau Records. (Rel date TBA)

Fresh from Supporting Snow Patrol on a handful of their arena tour dates, the spectacular and ever ‘EPIC’ (Irish Times) band ‘A Plastic Rose’ are the name on a lot of people’s lips at the moment.

Widely seen as one of the most exciting prospects to emerge from the increasingly fertile Northern Irish music scene, the band have been instrumental in uniting artists and gig-goers alike, knowing that there is great strength in a united front.

On ‘BOY RACER’; the band have yet again captured the sound that makes them such a favourite amongst audiences. Defined by their individuality and with talent aplenty, APR are proving that behind the band’s ability to bring people together, there is some serious edgy song writing skills at work.

Camera.Shutter.Life’ calls to mind the aggression of Rival Schools, the dark mystery of R.E.M., the emotional intensity of Biffy Clyro, as well as the fist-pumping choruses of the Foo Fighters.

THE ENEMY

ANNOUNCE TWO MAY SHOWS AT COVENTRY CATHEDRAL RUINS

RELEASE NEW ALBUM ‘STREETS IN THE SKY’ (COOKCD553) ON MAY 21ST (18th in Ireland)

The Enemy will play two hometown headline shows at Coventry Cathedral Ruins on 21st and 22nd May to coincide with the release of their third album ‘Streets in the Sky’ on 21st May. The band will also be performing an exclusive warm-up show at London’s Borderline on 18th April before their headline gig at Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 24th May.

The shows at Coventry Cathedral Ruins will follow the bands homecoming show at S7VEN nightclub in February which sold out in seconds and was packed with fans who featured on the video for the free download song ‘Gimme The Sign’.  The Enemy will celebrate the release of their third album in their hometown of Coventry on the Monday and Tuesday of the week of release and the gig promises a host of new songs along with lots of the bands hit tracks and a few special guests.

The Enemy will also be performing a warm-up gig on 18th April at London’s Borderline and with a capacity of only 300, the show will be a sell-out. The tiny gig will precede their headline show at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 24th April where they will perform to 2000 people.

‘Streets in the Sky’ is the bands third album and according to the band, their best yet. “Streets In The Sky is the result of more than a years hard work from lots and lots of people. I’m more proud of it than any album we’ve ever made. It sounds massive and the songs are some of the best we’ve written. I can’t wait to see what the public make of it.” says The Enemy’s Tom Clarke.

Recorded in London and LA with Joby J. Ford from seminal US punk band The Bronx, the 12-track album has the signature Enemy anthemic guitar sound yet it is much heavier than the last two albums. It is packed with huge songs from the catchy and forceful free download single ‘Gimme The Sign’ to the instantly catchy anthemic song ‘Bigger Cages (Longer Chains)’ to the melodic and punchy track ‘This Is Real’. New single ‘Saturday’ is a summer anthem in the making with a singalong chorus that is just made to be chanted from the football stadium to the festival fields to the pub on a night out. The Enemy are set to make their mark again in 2012 and ‘Streets in the Sky’ is just the start.

The video for the new single ‘Saturday’ can be seen exclusively on VEVO at

The full album tracklisting is listed below:

Gimme The Sign, Bigger Cages (Longer Chains), Saturday, 1-2-3-4, Like A Dancer, Come Into My World, This Is Real, 2 Kids, Turn It On, It’s A Race, Get Up And Dance, Make A Man

The Enemy formed in hometown Coventry in 2006 by three friends; Andy Hopkins (24, bass), Liam Watts (23, drums) and Tom Clarke (23, vocals/guitar). Their first single ’40 days, 40 nights’ sold out all 1000 copies of its limited edition 7” in less than a day and signaled only the start for The Enemy. Their debut 2007 album ‘We’ll Live and Die in These Towns’ charted at #1 selling over 600,000 copies with big singles ‘Away From Here’ (Top 10) and ‘Had Enough’ (Top 5) gaining the band an army of diehard fans. Their second album ‘Music For The People’ was released in 2009 and charted very strongly at #2 with hit ‘Be Somebody’ continued to be used on ITV’s FA Cup coverage.

To date, the band have sold over half a million tickets for their live gigs and along with their own headline dates and festival appearances, they have performed with the likes of Oasis, Kasabian, Manic Street Preachers and Stereophonics.

With just weeks to go until latest opus Born Villain surfaces, Marilyn Manson has unleashed the promo for new single ‘No Reflection’.

“As you might expect, the accompanying video for the blistering track (we detect a bit of Bowie’s ‘Scary Monsters’ in amongst the industrial gristle) is a pretty creepy affair and a good indication that he’s back to his best”.- Hotpress
