Here’s a nice little Christmas treat from Eleanor. A video of Eleanor performing ‘Sophie’ is now up on You Tube. ‘Sophie’, from Eleanor’s third album ‘Snapshots’, has come to be an anthem for many who suffer from eating disorders. It has been used as the soundtrack for scores of videos across the internet with over a million viewings on You Tube.
Everyone’s favourite New Yorker with the big voice, Nell Bryden is excited to enter the New Year with the release of her 5th and final single from her current album ‘What Does It Take?’ Glory To The Dayis released on January 3rd, 2011 through Cooking Vinyl. Nell’s new single is now the SIXTH single from her album that has been playlisted by BBC Radio 2!
This single contains a radio remix by Danny Kirsch (Charlotte Church, Katie Melua, Freemasons, Happy Mondays, Andy Abraham), and also beautiful acoustic and instrumental versions, plus the original album version.
Bryden is fast becoming one of the most talked about and sought after new artists, building the buzz the old-fashioned way with word-of-mouth endorsements of her live shows. With four international tours (and 500+ shows) in the last 2 years under her belt, including sharing the stage with KT Tunstall, The Counting Crows, Imelda May & JLS. Going from strength to strength, her self-released debut UK single, What Does It Take, spent 7 weeks on the BBC R2 A-list (Second Time Around spent over 2 months on the RTE Radio1 playlist and was Song of the Week on Today FM)- she is definitely one to watch. Bryden also appeared on RTE TV’s the Late Late show on her first Irish single release; Second Time Around.
I dont ever- ever- do things like this but after today, what the hell…
after all it was perhaps the most surreal thing I’ve ever heard on the radio never mind Liveline with Joe Duffy. Former Minister of Defence and Limerick TD Willie O’Dea defends the Rubberbandits’ ‘Horse Outside’ against a disgruntled caller and actually says the line “It portrays me as selling hash, and swearing on my tache that it’s good hash” from the Bandits song about him. At one point someone says “what is a bag of yokes?”. Then Blindboy Boat Club from Rubberbandits comes on the line to explain subtext in art. RADIO GOLD!
Caller: “It’s an absolute joke.”
Blindboy Rubberbandits: “Exactly, it’s an absolute joke, you put it well there yourself kid.”
The Saw Doctors are currently in the final week of their 18 date

THE BAND: The Frank and Walters are one of the most recognizable alternative rock bands hailing from Cork, Ireland in the past 2 decades. The band: Paul Linehan (Lead vocal & bass), Ashley Keating- (Drums) & Kevin Pedreschi (lead Guitar) took the band name in honor of two eccentric Cork characters. Two decades on from the release of their very first record, and the Franks continue to defy expectations.
With Indie hits such as ‘Fashion Crisis Hits New York’ & ‘After All’ (which reached the top twenty in the UK Singles Chart, where it peaked at #11. The group also appeared on Top of the Pops in support of the single; it went as high as #5 in the Irish charts). Their music today is as relevant as any of the new pretenders on the block and only a handful of bands anywhere in the world can lay claim to such longevity of popularity. Catch the band revisiting Indie classics and new material from their forthcoming album set for release in 2011, at a list of December shows around the country.

Beating off competition from Katy Perry, Rhianna, Bruno Mars + more, The Saw Doctors were quick to take over the No.1 spot on iTunes upon the release of their New single, a re-worked acapella version of RED CORTINA last Friday Dec the 3rd. And today they soared to No. 4 in the Official Irish Charts resting comfortably between Xfactor finalists, Black Eyed Peas and Rhianna.
After celebrating a No.1 Album: The Further Adventures of…., and a busy year of festivals (V Festival, Oxegen) and sell out shows across America, the Uk and Ireland, The Saw Doctors have partnered with Smyths Toys to raise much needed funds for the St. Vincent De Paul Society. Every download of ‘Red Cortina’ Acapella version from iTunes IRELAND will be matched by a 1 Euro donation from Smyths Toys, i.e. if there is 2,000 downloads of Red Cortina Acapella from iTunes, then Smyths Toys will contribute 2,000 Euro to the Society of St. Vincent De Paul. Red Cortina (First Love Stays With You Forever): A song about the first time you fell in love… As the lyric says: “Christmas Party Seventy-Seven… Heart Beat Like An Earthly Tremor…. First Love Stays With You Forever……”
And so it ends, 2010. The Parson rode his bicycle with all the urgency of Spring, we got to Let It Out for those glorious two weeks of the Summer and The Clock ticked ominously as the Autumnal chill drifted in.
It’s Winter now, the seasons change, we change, and God knows the world has changed. Christmas can be the best of times, and the worst of times. But as always, there is hope. The Future, what will it hold? Song For A Future Love, the last of the bands seasonal releases, closes out the year in true epic style. With long time collaborator Dave Couse back in the production hotseat, The Frank And Walters give us a song that soars above the grind of the mundane and sparkles brightly in the cold crisp December sky. ‘THIS CHRISTMAS’
We are delighted to be apart of a very special campaign celebrating a new Single performed and written by ‘FUNZO’ IN AID OF BARNARDOScharity. GoodSeedPR have offered our time for free on this particular campaign because we feel that every now and then we all must take a step back and think about how lucky and fortunate we all are. In a world where bad news and word of disaster travels fast, it is easy to become numb to it all, and not take a moment to think about the lives of others. Today we kindly ask you, not even now, but maybe a little later on, to pause for a moment and think about this wonderful charity that works to improve the lives of Children at risk.
And for your time and goodwill we would like to extend our many thanks.
‘THIS CHRISTMAS’ has a Rel date of Dec 10th and will be Available on iTunes and in all stores nationwide from Dec onwards. if you click on the image below it will bring you to a place where you can listen to the song. If you like us, like what you hear, please support and purchase it from Dec onwards by walking into any HMV store and buying it.
