Pop/Soul singer and songwriter, Luke Wade’s mournful rasp and earnestly heartfelt songwriting bid comparisons between Wade and singer/song-writers like Ray LaMontagne, Van Morrison and Glen Hansard. Growing up on Hurt Street might seem an auspicious beginning for a soul singer but for Luke Wade, of Dublin, Texas, it’s hard to imagine that it would be anything short of destiny.

Born of extraordinary artists and self-described ‘Hippies’, with a landscape painter for a Father and a Yoga instructor for a Mother, Luke is the product of a home that truly cultivated creativity. The youngest of four children, his music is the modern manifestation of the introspective and enlightened notions instilled by his parents.  Bob and Wanda spawned a self-awareness that makes Luke’s music inherently reflective, without need of gimmick or novelty.  He is no stranger to the sometimes heartache he writes about in his music. As a teenager, Wade suffered a severe injury after being shot in his right eye with a paintball in May 1997. The injury left him with partial blindness and no depth perception, so he had to quit most of the sports he played at school.

Luke was a Top 8 Finalist from Season 7 of NBC’s Emmy Award-winning music competition, “The Voice”. Since his run on the show, Luke has headlined over 200 dates and opened for Patti LaBelle, Andy Grammer, MKTO, Train, Daughtry, Blue October, Green River Ordinance, Ingrid Michelson, Casey Abrams, Kris Allen, Jerry Jeff Walker, OAR, and David Cook. Lukefinished his tour with performances for the halftime show of the Denver Broncos game at Mile High Stadium, AT&T Stadium during the Dallas Cowboy game and performed the National Anthem at Texas Motor Speedway which was nationally televised on NBC. He is on tour with Toad the Wet Sprocket, Rusted Root, and Edwin McCain throughout July and August of this year.   As the official 2015-16 Komen Artist, he recently released “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” with Mia Z to benefit Susan G. Komen and the fight against breast cancer. His New Single: “Three Days” is Out Nov 11th.

The 4 Of Us2-the4ofuscolour-2

Single & Album : “Sugar Island”

Out Oct 28th

The 4 Of Us have been a steadfast part of Irish music history for over a quarter of a century. Formed and fronted by Newry-born brothers Brendan and Declan Murphy, they have developed a unique musical identity, which has produced original and award- winning recordings, as well as a large and loyal fan base. To date, they have notched up an enviable catalogue of timeless songs, including six top 20 Irish charting albums. Their music has also been featured extensively on American, UK, and Irish TV soundtracks.

The 4 Of Us shot to early fame towards the end of 1989 with their debut Songs for the Tempted, which featured the massive hits Mary and Drag My Bad Name Down. The follow up Man Alive made Q magazine’s prestigious Top 50 Albums of 1992 and included the UK Top 30 song She Hits Me.

‘Sugar Island’, their latest album, is due for release on October 28th 2016. Lyrically, the album explores the brothers’ early years growing up in Northern Ireland; musically, it focuses on the trademark interplay of their acoustic guitars. As singer Brendan recalls: ’It was a dark time for sure, but as kids we still managed to have a lot of fun. Everyone who lived through that time has their own stories to tell; we thought we’d share some of ours.’

Promising to be one of their best studio recordings yet, Sugar Island features 12 new songs. It is arguably their most biographical album, including tracks reflecting on the brothers’ childhood, growing up in a border town during the height of the troubles in Northern Ireland.

The Band perform in Dublin’s Vicar St. Nov 11th where the Murphy brothers will be joined by their original band line-up to perform their debut album Songs For The Tempted, along with their latest, in show entitled Then and Now. The lead radio Single “Sugar Island” refers to the landmark heart of their hometown, which was also a popular meeting place for young lovers. ‘On the day I left you crying, on the bridge at Sugar Island’, as the lyric goes. This is also out Oct 28th along with the album. For more info and a full list of tour dates + social media links go to: http://the4ofus.com/

The single ‘Hospital” from Independent Irish band Heroes in Hiding has been added to the 2fm National Playlist and in good company too, alongside Lady Gaga, Bob Marley & The Wailers, Jason Derulo, Shawn Mendes, Craig David and fellow Irish acts The Blizzards (Universal Music/Island), The Riptide Movement (Universal Music), Gavin James (Capitol/Sony), Picture This (ChiefDogRecs) and Walking On Cars (Virgin EMI). Heroes In Hiding are the only Irish band on the National playlist not signed to a Major or Indie publisher, management company or label! Bringing DIY to a whole new level on this single release.

The band have been heavily promoting the LP release and the Single and invited their fans to help them launch the LP by a FundIt campaign which reached the target in advance of the deadline, proving that fan commitment is still live and kicking in Independent music.

Heroes In HidingSince the release of debut EP “Hush” in 2014, Heroes In Hiding have gathered a momentum that is now in full pendulum swing. The burgeoning band are centre stage in Ireland as one of the most promising talked about acts on the scene. Having performed at festivals such as Electric Picnic, Forbidden Fruit, Castlepalooza, BD Festival, Life Festival, even securing a slot at Iceland’s Secret Solstice festival – the band are now ready to release their first LP titled ‘CURTAINS’ which is due for an autumn release date of Oct 7th 2016.

The first single from the LP, which was released earlier in the year: “No, You’re a Rabbit” graced many airwaves across Ireland including coveted National Playlists. Follow up track ‘Hospital’ is out now and has been received with National acclaim from National Radio (Today FM, Rte1&2, BBC all awarding it with ‘Track of the week/day’), National Press (The Star, The Irish Times) and many more. Recorded by Jack Dunne and Cian Donohoe in Windmill lane and Block C Studios, the LP was Mixed and Mastered by Martin Quinn in Jam Studios.

‘Hospital’, the lead single, documents a recent close encounter with death by a member of the band Joe Carroll: “I was on my way home from a friend’s birthday party on a hired coach. There weren’t enough seats so I was standing up at the back. I leaned back and fell out of the door and onto the motorway. I don’t remember much of the incident itself and the next thing I remember was lying on a trolley in the hospital in a neck brace. Luckily I didn’t sustain any lasting injuries but I was fully aware of how close I came to being much worse off. On my second day in hospital I heard a nurse using some sort of machine behind the curtain on the patient next to me. It was bleeping with two harmonious tones. Something told me I had to make a song out of it so I recorded it on my phone (which had miraculously survived the fall). A few days later when I was at home and feeling a little better I put the recording onto my laptop and recorded a rough draft of the song “Hospital”. The song is a document of my experience that night, and my realisation that life is very fragile and something to be cherished.”
