Having recently slayed SXSW Festival in Austin, played Slam Dunk Festival, toured the UK with Lower Than Atlantis, and then Ireland with Young Guns, UK four piece BLITZ KIDS can now reveal the brand new single, ‘Run For Cover’. The single, which will be released on August 5th on digital download AND as a limited etched 7”, is the 2nd track to be taken from the bands forthcoming, brand new studio album ‘The Good Youth’, set for a late September release date.
Jono Yates (Guitar) explains a bit about the track: “Run For Cover’ is just basically your run of the mill fists in the air, lager on the floor, punch your best friend in the face and eat a kebab after you’re finished kind of tune. It’s about getting blagged by your missus when you’re out on tour with the lads, and the challenges that come with being in a relationship when you’re constantly on the road.’
The band can also can now announce they will be supporting The Blackout across the UK in October, which Jono (Yates) explains has been a tour long planned: ‘It’s been a long time coming, but we’re finally on a full UK run with The Blackout. We’ve played countless shows with those boys, and it’s going to be a ridiculous and quite frankly dangerous ordeal, sending us on the road together for two weeks. Come to think of it, whoever thought this would be a good idea should probably lawyer up, because they are responsible for whatever misfortune awaits. We can’t wait!’
Previous to SXSW in March and these LTA dates, live wise, BLITZ KIDS have recently undertaken UK and European tours with the likes of We The Kings, DRUGS, Tonight Alive, Kids In Glass Houses, Mayday Parade, Mallory Knox, Escape The Fate and Canterbury among others. They have also played the UK’s biggest and most prestigious festivals, such as Download, Sonisphere, Slam Dunk and Hevy.
