Irish born singer-songwriter Megan O’Neill had planned a hectic year in 2020 with solo, headline tours across Ireland, Germany, the UK, New Zealand, and Australia. Starting off with two incredible support slots at the Olympia Theatre (with the Lighthouse Family) and the Bord Gais Energy Theatre (with Jamie Cullum) but with Covid19, the remainder of the International tour was cancelled. Her forthcoming album, ‘Getting Comfortable with Uncertainty’, set for release later this year, is aptly titled.

Megan is now busy doing weekly online shows on social media and writing for fellow artists and Sync briefs. She has just secured a major Netflix sync with her cover of ‘Time in a Bottle’ by Jim Croce. Megan has performed at private Oscars’ parties in LA alongside Gavin James (on a personal invite from JJ Abrams) and has had her song ‘Don’t You’ featured on ABC’s hit TV Show ‘Nashville’ (Season 3). In 2019 Megan opened three stadium shows for the legendary Sir Tom Jones (Bristol, Taunton, and Colchester) – performing in front of 15,000 people per night.
 
Last week, Megan released the music video for Ireland, her love song to Ireland. It has already received over 200,000 views online and has been picked up by major media outlets including Joe.ie & Image.ie. 

Ireland will be officially released on streaming platforms in Mid May.

Fresh From Her Tour Support With Sir Tom Jones, Megan O’Neill announces Christmas Song ‘Winter Sun’ set for Dec 13th Release

Irish born singer – songwriter Megan O’Neill has just finished working on her fourth studio record, set for public release in 2020. This much anticipated album follows her last release, ‘Ghost of You’ (June 2018) which hit #1 on the iTunes singer/songwriter charts in the UK and Ireland.

To date Megan has toured the UK, Ireland, US and Germany. She has performed at private Oscars’ parties in LA alongside Gavin James (on personal invite from JJ Abrams) and has had her song ‘Don’t You’ featured on ABC’s hit TV Show ‘Nashville’ (Season 3). In 2019 Megan opened three stadium shows for the legendary Sir Tom Jones (Bristol, Taunton and Colchester) – performing in front of 15,000 people per night.

Prior to her album ‘Ghost of You’; Megan released two EP’s: ‘Coming Home’ (2015) – produced by Philip Magee (The Script, Kodaline) and ‘Stories to Tell’ (2017) – produced by Guy Fletcher (Dire Straits, Mark Knopfler). She also released a single under Decca Records in collaboration with Ben Earle (The Shires) – ‘Can’t Put a Price on That’ (2016).

Megan is an integral artist in the currently booming UK Country Music Scene, being termed “one of the rising stars” by uDiscover (2018). In 2018, she performed at every UK Country Music Festival including Country-2-Country (at the 02, London), Black Deer Festival, The Long Road Festival and Nashville Meets London’s series of events. She has been twice chosen as one of Timeout Magazine’s ‘Rising Stars in Country Music’.

2019 sees Megan taking the main stage at the British Country Music Festival, touring with Sir Tom Jones across the UK, releasing 2 brand new singles of her own (October / December) and performing as the lead female in a very exciting new project with Universal Music – yet to be announced.

Live radio appearances and performances include BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio London with Gaby Roslin, 2fm, BBC Essex, Today FM with Ian Dempsey, BBC Radio Wales, Marie Crichton’s Country Show on BBC, Nevis Radio, Amazing Radio, Chris Country and many, many more. 

Prior to her upcoming album release, Megan has penned a track ‘Winter Sun’ which is set for release Dec 13th. A festive feel-good nostalgic song.

Says Megan: ‘Winter Sun’ is a song I wrote while living in London – away from Ireland. It’s about Ireland being a real sanctuary for me when I was living abroad – every time I came home I felt grounded and like I could get back to myself. Ireland was my winter sun – somewhere I could feel secure and grounded.
