DIGITAL Single “CHOICE” out Feb 28th

*Taken from Album ‘Oxen of the Sun’

‘Choice’ is the latest single release taken from album Oxen of The Sun by pop duo / electro Irish/Swedish outfit KKC (Kill Krinkle Club). Justin Commins and Elina Bergman originally met by chance a few years ago in a Dublin bar. Commins had luckily won a coin toss that got him off his night job, thus allowing him to meet his future band mate. When it comes to songwriting, the duo describes the process as rubbing two sticks together to get a spark and fuel it until it becomes a fire. “We take turns being the spark and being the fuel,” Commins says. They try to let themes and ideas come about, never aiming for any specific concept beforehand. “We work in a very stream-of-consciousness way, just trying to get in that space where things flow naturally,” Bergman adds.

Their musicality has been described as ‘ear-bending inventiveness’ (State Magazine) with ‘dreamy electronica…. imaginative ideas and the abundant’ (Irish Times). The album was produced and mixed by Declan Gaffney (U2, Interpol) and Tom McFall (Bloc Party, REM, Stars) and mastered at Sterling.

The electronic dream-pop duo have brought their live show as far as New York (CMJ NY), Canada (NXNE Toronto, Halifax Pop Explosion CMW) & are regular crowd pleasers at Ireland’s much loved Electric Picnic Festival. They’ve shared the stage fellow luminaries such as Bat For Lashes, The Flaming Lips, MGMT & Efterklang. Their music encapsulates a kind of ‘cool’ akin to the taste of Calvin Klein, who had one of their songs soundtrack his 2012 New York catwalk show.

Their debut album Abandon received much acclaim & the bands follow up ‘Oxen Of The Sun’ (September 2013) is garnering similar accolades such as Album of the week on Rte 2Fm and is receiving plays on National stations Rte and BBC.

‘Choice’ is their latest offering to radio. ‘A wonderfully beautiful, full of lush, staccato beats and vocals with power and soul’- Hotpress

‘The core sound of ambience, murky synthesizers and brooding vocals from both members are very much present, particularly on the album’s first few songs’. – Nialler9

What’s with the name? Justin explains “There’s a scene in Taxi Driver where DeNiro talks to a Secret Service agent and gives the fake name Henry Krinkle. It always stuck with me. He’s a character on the edge, just about holding his sh*t together. I think Krinkle signifies the urge to be a respectable member of society, to do your job and keep your head down. While underneath it all there’s a sort of madness that comes from holding back our true nature.”
