Billow Wood Release Single ‘Old Friend’

Brand new Irish band Billow Wood (formerly known as Flat Out) are a male/female four-piece who fuse their unique brand of instrumentation with multi-vocals and harmonies. Billow Wood are influenced by Irish traditional music and folk music and are now moving in a new direction often accompanied by a bass and drums. They are creating their own unique sound! A blend of irish music and folk music.

The four band members are often outnumbered with instruments on stage with Mark O’Donnell on fiddle and guitar, Harry Lawlor on Harp and guitar, Ciara O’Donnell on Bodhrán, flute and whistles and Bríd O’Donnell on accordion. Nevertheless their blend of irish instrumentation and vocal harmonies is a sound not to miss!

New Single ‘Old Friend’ was inspired by a love and friendship lost, a reflection on past regrets, and the desire to reach out in friendship although the romance has failed.“Old Friend, old Flame, old pain retained, old love mistakes, but some love can never change”

Old Friend is a stripped back track that pays homage to the bands traditional roots, with a powerful acoustic feel and a rousing instrumental that creates a true Irish trad-folk feel.

Billow Wood have many exciting tours and projects lined up for 2020, including the release
of their debut studio album, so be sure to keep up to date by checking out their website www.billowwood.com.
