About “Allta”

“Allta”, meaning “wild” or “untamed” in Irish, perfectly encapsulates the raw, unbridled energy that flows through this collection of 11 tracks. The album brings together a dynamic mix of four songs and seven instrumental pieces, weaving newly composed tunes like “The Road to Cul Ros,” “The Falcon’s Rest,” and “McKinneys of Chicago” with beloved traditional favourites such as “The Rainy Day” and “The Rakes of Clonmel.”

Recorded at Black Mountain Studios in Dundalk, Co. Louth, by engineer Alex Borwick, the album also features recordings made with Donogh Hennessy as the sound engineer in Dingle, Ireland, showcasing the band’s global approach to creating music. Each band member contributed their own unique influences to the project, resulting in an album that reflects their evolution since their debut release in 2015.

“Allta” is more than just a collection of tracks—it is a celebration of friendship, musical growth, and the unyielding joy that comes from playing wild, untamed music together.

Produced by the Band, Featuring Talented Guest Musicians

With production helmed by the band themselves, Allta showcases the individual skills of each member, as well as the powerful chemistry they share as a group. The band’s line-up features:

  • Tom Delany on uilleann pipes, whistles, and vocals
  • Caroline Keane on concertina, whistles, and vocals
  • Robbie Walsh on bodhrán and vocals

In addition to the core members, the album features guest appearances by Alan Murray (guitar, bouzouki, vocals), Laura Kerr (fiddle), and Barry Kerr (flute and artwork). Their contributions further enrich the album, bringing new textures to an already dynamic sound.
