Jo Petit Announces New Single ‘Stressed Out’ Set For Aug 28th

Jo Petit began his experience in the music industry in his teenage years on the Island of Mauritius when he set out on an explorative path of singing and discovering the meaning behind the lyrics of songs he grew up listening to.

“I started listening to music from different countries to broaden my horizons, even more, I went from Jazz, Blues, soul, reggae, swing, Rock, Rap, Bossa Nova, and a particular interest for Celtic folk and anything I could get my hands on .”

Maybe it is the combination of style that led him to be so versatile as an artist and can effortlessly transit from one vocal style to another. Jo has performed in many prestigious venues and met many celebrities such as Chris de Burgh, Witney Houston, Bobby Brown, Lenny Kravitz, Paris Hilton and many more.

Jo left his beloved Island and travelled to Ireland to follow his musical dreams. In 2009 he became a member of an Irish boyband ‘The Boulevard’ who had success with a number 1 single in the Irish charts. Jo and the band toured Ireland and the UK, supporting major acts, such as Boyzone, Westlife, and JLS, they had their own line up at the Childline concert, in venues like the O2, RDS, the marquee in Cork, the O2 London, Trafalgar Square and many more. Following two successful years with the band,  Jo parted ways with the other members of The Boulevard to pave his own path in the music industry.

He got signed to an independent Label in Glasgow Scotland just a few weeks after parting ways with the boys. This was one of the best things that happened in my music career “he said”.  During that time he worked with a number of professional managers, songwriters, producers and very talented musicians. He worked countless hours in studios around the UK writing and recording a catalogue of original songs. Jo developed a true passion for studio work through this experience and started thinking about becoming a producer himself.

Jo was then noticed for his stage presence and showmanship by a major German company who specialised in hi-end corporate events around Europe. They were looking for a front-man to stand for their singer for two nights. Jo being adventurous, took on the challenge and flew to Munich. After the 1st night, Jo was signed for the whole year and the year after and toured all over Europe with a crew of 22 members including a 16 piece band before settling back to Ireland.

Jo went on to study and graduated with an honours degree in Music Production at Griffith/Pulse college after his return to Ireland.  While studying he saw an opportunity to start his own band, he formed The Dream Band just a few years ago and quickly became one of Ireland’s most popular and in-demand corporate party bands. Armed with Jo’s sensational vocals and showmanship, some of the country’s most respected musicians and decades of experience, this 6 to 14 piece big band will absolutely blow you away!

Bringing a sense of something different to each and every event, this powerhouse band started Performing in venues across Ireland, the UK, Scotland, France, Italy, Spain and Germany. Most recently Jo was contacted by  RTÉ to work with the RTÉ Orchestra on several project, including the RTÉ Christmas show and the TV show Dancing With The Stars where he performed with the orchestra on National television last February 2020. The same year during the Covid-19 when the country went into locked down and all events and job got cancelled Jo saw this as an opportunity to starting writing and producing his own material. Now he is ready for the next chapter of his life as he releases his new single ‘Stressed Out’ on Aug 24th.

ABOUT THE SONG:

‘Stressed Out’ is a song written and co-produced by Jo Petit and produced by one of Ireland’s top music producer Billy Farrell. The song is the first independent release from Jo Petit in Ireland, it is a mix of Soul and R&B with an injection of Reggae which gives it a feel-good summer vibe.

The song was inspired by our daily lives and how everyone, whether you are a CEO, an employee, a student, a parent, young or old we are all getting stressed out, especially this year with the covid-19, locked down, new rules and restrictions every day, all the protests going on around the world it feels like the whole world is stressed out and we all need a vacation. The idea was to write something that everyone could relate to but also make it fun and light-hearted.

While in LA, she entered an online competition called The Great American Song Contest and was chosen as a finalist with her debut single, Good Enough, which she says was a great honour. It was also something for which she has had a lifetime of training.

“I always wanted to be a performer. I did a lot of acting and singing with The Performers in the Firkin Crane with Irene Warren, I had been in The Monforts and I was in the Cork School of Dance with Sinead Murphy. I was in pantos with Bryan Flynn and I’m so delighted I got to work with him. These people were all very influential when I was growing up.”

Ruth wrote the ‘Toodle-oo‘ song to help and inspire people.

‘The song is called “Toodle-oo” and focuses on the themes of strength, overcoming adversity and female empowerment, I hope that when people listen to it they can draw inspiration from it’

Irish pop starlet KEHLI is back to unveil her latest hit-in-the-making ‘Ur So Cool’ featuring Louis III.

After returning last month to deliver her third single ‘Hypnotized’, which garnered support from several key playlists including Spotify’s NewPopUK, Apple Music Pop’s New music daily, Filtr’s NewMusicFriday, as well as close to 3 million radio impressions in Ireland in just a few weeks, Irish pop starlet KEHLI is back to unveil her latest hit-in-the-making ‘Ur So Cool’ featuring Louis III.

Working in collaboration with rising R&B star Louis III, ‘Ur So Cool’ follows on from her previously shared singles ‘Hypnotized’, ‘Believe It’ and ‘One Last Kiss’ in previewing her highly-anticipated new EP. Her latest offering sees the pair blend bold and progressive pop aesthetics with a distinctly R&B flow, creating a wonderfully rich and warm hybrid that continues her fresh and vibrant direction throughout.

Speaking about her new release, KEHLI said, “So buzzed for this collab to come out into the world. Making this track was one of my favorite experiences. I knew from the start that this would be a fun one. Working with Louis was an honour, he is crazy talented and I’m so happy we got to make this together. Listening to ‘No Air’ by Chris Brown and Jordan Sparks gave me major inspo for this song as it’s such an iconic duet. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as we loved making it”

Louis III adds ’Ur So Cool is about that obsession you feel for someone new – they’re all you think about, you worship the ground they walk on etc, but neither of you have worked out how to say it to each other yet, so all you have in the meantime is words that don’t quite fill the void, like ‘Ur so cool’. We wrote it on a rainy afternoon in Camden and it came really quickly to us from a tune we starting humming for the chorus – it’s always great finding new artists to collaborate with and this tune just felt right to sing on with KEHLI.’’

With BBC Radio 1 Best New Pop’, Spotify’s New Music Friday’ and penning one of UK’s biggest breakout dance tracks ‘Anywhere’ with Sigma last year (over 58 millions streams to date), Louis III is no stranger to pop success himself. Hailing from Croydon, South London, the singer and songwriter has already seen praise from the likes of BBC Radio1, 1Xtra, i-D, Wonderland, and High Snobiety, and was also hand-picked by Virgil Abloh – Louis Vuitton’s creative director, and Kanye West’s right-hand man – to walk in the Louis Vuitton SS20 Men’s show at Paris Fashion week alongside artists including Octavian and Dev Hynes.

This new delight from the pair is driven by a solid pop beat, summery guitars, and a slight touch of electronic effects for dressing, reminiscent of Lauv and Anne-Marie’s smash hit duet ‘F*ck I’m Lonely’. Brimming with powerful musical chemistry, it has all the right ingredients to have you humming the hook all Summer long.

Since the release of her second single ‘Believe It’ last September, a lot has changed for the emerging singer. As well as the enormous response it received from Irish radio, with nearly 10 million radio impacts across stations such as iRadio, RTE 2FM, Spin 103.8, FM104, both BBC Radio 1 and KISS FM were also regular supporters of the release, and was featured in countless publications including Official Charts ‘One To Watch’, Earmilk, 1883 magazine, The Irish Times, Music Week, Record of the Day and much more.

By the end of 2019, she had collected nearly half a million streams across her Spotify alone. In addition to being invited to perform the infamous studio 8 sessions for RTE 2 fm, KEHLI was also named one of Top 5 emerging female acts to watch in 2020.

Her debut single ‘One Last Kiss’ reached top 5 positions in three key UK club charts including contemporary pop (#4), urban (#3) and club urban (#3). Watch the video for ‘One Last Kiss’ HERE

Hailing from Dublin, 19-year old KEHLI is a vocalist and performer with a soulful, passionate and unique interpretation of contemporary pop music. She spent her early years at stage school, where from age 5, she studied music and professional dance including contemporary, hip-hop and ballet.

Her evolving passion for music and performance encouraged a 14 year old KEHLI to try her hands on a couple of TV music shows (usual suspects The Voice/X Factor etc.) which at such a tender age, provided invaluable experience and gained her a small cult online following.

She has since gone on to work with producer/songwriter MSRD – now New York/London based, who’s worked closely with KEHLI to help hone her sound. Other collaborators include the likes of London based Cameron Pool (Anne-Marie, Raye, RAY BLK) who has worked closely on KEHLI’s forthcoming debut, a soulful and edgy, pop infused EP.

2020 is on track to be an exciting one for this young talent and her music.

Valhalla Announce New Heart-Moving Song ‘Don’t You Ever Say’ Rel date June 12th

Valhalla, an Alternative Rock trio from Dublin, who cite influences such as Queens Of The Stone Age, Tame Impala Foals, Idles, Kings of Leon, Elvis, and LCD Soundsystem have just announced their brand new single Don’t You Ever Say, set for release on June 12th.

The track, is a more emotive Alt-Indie rock offering, showcasing the band’s wide appeal and musicality along with highlighting and dealing with the subject matter of loss and the fragility of human suffering.

Says Mark, the lead singer, on the genesis of the new song:

This is quite a personal song, my sister passed away when I was 12 she was just 5 at the time. I always felt that this was a conversation that people didn’t know how to approach with me & I suppose I always felt by bringing it up that this was a burden to them.

I think the overall meaning of the song is to question that idea & to remember anyone who has passed away. The verses were memories of conversations I’ve had on the topic throughout the years, the chorus is emphasizing the point of not forgetting people who have passed away & to not feel like it’s a problem to talk about them.

This is the second single from their much-anticipated debut album ‘Primal Features’ in Autumn 2020. The new music was recorded at Sonic Studios, Dublin and co-produced by Stephen Dunne.

2019 saw the release of their debut EP “Big Men, They Fall” which was well received. The band played numerous headline shows across Ireland & the UK, including Sold Out Shows in Whelans and Bello Bar in Dublin.

With the massive change in recent weeks with the COVID_19, the band is embracing modern technology and will be hosting a series of at-home gigs where they extend an opening welcome to their fans, old and new, to emerge themselves in the process of the new album. From each band member, the band will host a series of IGTV footage from each band member with interactive workshops and sessions dismantling the album and speaking about the recording process.

Valhalla is Mark Boyle (Vocals & Guitar) Barry Monahan (Bass & Keys) and Luke Alford (Drums).

Pop Songstress KEHLI Announces New Music “Hypnotized” Set To Be Released Fri May 29th

After returning earlier this month to deliver the new video for her second single ‘Believe It’, which was premiered on the Official Charts, Irish pop starlet KEHLI is back to unveil her latest hit-in-the-making ‘Hypnotized’.

Following on from the release of ‘Believe It’ and ‘One Last Kiss’ in previewing her highly-anticipated new EP, ‘Hypnotized’ sees her adopt a more electro-pop aesthetic. With her own crystalline vocals taking centre stage, this new offering is driven by a rich beat and gutsy electronic texture, reminiscent of the dynamic pop sound of the 80s.

Speaking about her new release, she said, “I recorded ‘Hypnotized’ last summer in London and I’m excited to finally release it! People experience love at one point or another and this is one interpretation of that feeling. The song has such an upbeat, uplifting energy to it and I hope people enjoy it as much as I loved making it.

Mostly though, I hope it brings a little fun and happiness to everyone’s quarantine situation as the world goes through such a dark time at the moment with the pandemic. As we go into the summer months and need to remain in quarantine, people are going to need something to uplift them and I hope this helps even in a small way to give an element of fun and positivity to anyone that hears it while listening at home!’’

Recorded at SARM Studios (Madonna, The Rolling Stones, Stormzy, Raye, Lewis Capaldi), the track was produced by buzzing pop production team Kid Eternal and Angelssön (Glowie, Iggy Azalea, Icona Pop), mixed by Eli Marrett-Hitch (Dua Lipa ‘Don’t start now’, Justin Bieber ‘Yummy’, Troye Sivan, Ariana Grande, Julia Michaels, Jonas Blue) and mastered by Stuart Hawkes (Mabel, Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Anne-Marie, JHus, Mura Masa, Rudimental).

Icona Pop & Afrojack producer from the Netherlands, Buzz Low heard the track and will now be releasing the official remix, which is set to arrive in early June.

Since the release of her sophomore single ‘Believe It’ last September, a lot has changed for the emerging singer. As well as the enormous response it received from Irish radio, with nearly 10 million radio impacts across stations such as iRadio, RTE 2FM, Spin 103.8, FM104, both BBC Radio 1 and KISS FM were also regular supporters of the release, and was featured in countless publications including Official Charts ‘One To Watch’, Earmilk, 1883 magazine, The Irish Times, Music Week, Record of the Day, The Digital Fix, Vents Magazine, Record of the Day and Chill Sounds Good.

By the end of 2019, she had collected nearly half a million streams across her Spotify alone. In addition to being invited to perform the infamous studio 8 sessions for RTE 2 fm, KEHLI was also named one of Top 5 emerging female acts to watch in 2020. Famed French HipHop DJ/Producer ProleteR heard the track and loved it so much he put his remix to it, which will be released next month.

Her previous offering ‘One Last Kiss’ reached top 5 positions in three key UK club charts including contemporary pop (#4), urban (#3) and club urban (#3).

Rehearsal footage of KEHLI singing Jorja Smith’s ‘Let me down’ made its way onto Instagram and was met by an extremely positive response with over 22K views in its first 48hrs.  This encouraged KEHLI to continue to pursue her passion for music.

It was this experience that led to an intro to producer/songwriter MSRD – now New York/London based, who’s worked closely with KEHLI to help hone her sound.  Other collaborators include the likes of London based Cameron Gower-Poole (Anne-Marie, Raye, RAY BLK) who has worked closely on KEHLI’s forthcoming debut, a soulful, edgy, pop infused EP also featuring mixes by Josh Gudwin (Julia Michaels, Post Malone, Halsey).

2020 is on track to be an exciting one for this young Irish talent and her music.
