Hannah Kathleen Releases New Single ‘Missing U’

Hannah Kathleen is a trailblazing 23 year old singer/songwriter and entrepreneur. The Dublin beauty is an artist whose very essence is based on a dynamic spark of creativity that permeates every area of her life, but seldom does it shine brighter than when she’s on stage or in studio doing what she loves – music.

Citing musical influences such as Whitney, Mariah, Ariana and Christina, Hannah’s voice is a fusion of vocal runs, that rise and soar with perfect, lush harmony-laden Pop sensibilities akin to the 90’s and indeed 00’s Pop divas. In new single ‘Missing U’, Hannah channels the subtle tones of Janet Jackson and Ariana Grande.

“Missing U’ is out now across all streaming platforms. This is a reflective romantic track, recorded remotely in Dublin due to the global situation, it’s a collaboration between Hannah Kathleen and German producer, SVRN.

The lyrics are particularly relevant to couples who have been missing/are missing each other due to COVID-19 lockdowns. It reminisces on better times with the hopes for a better future. It also features a cute reference to one of the most famous (and my fav) romantic movies of recent years, “The Notebook”!

Whether in Ireland or around the world (she is currently based in Norway), music is a universal language and Hannah Kathleen speaks it fluently. Music has always been her first love. As a performer she’s playful yet fierce, and her confidence, coupled with her authenticity, is what truly connects her with her audiences.

She’s young but already making waves, having performed not once, but twice, on Sir Richard Branson’s private island, Necker Island, in December 2018 & 2019, to guests including tennis legends Rod Laver & Martina Navratilova, as well as Sir Richard Branson himself. She has over 100,000 followers on Instagram, her word of mouth endorsement’s within the entertainment industry echoing across her social media.

Following her placement as a Miss Universe Ireland finalist in 2017 & 2018, she was invited back as a featured performer at the Miss Universe Ireland Final 2019 Show, as well as the famous ‘Blondwiesn’ Oktoberfest celebrations in Munich. She has been requested at a number of high profile events in 2020, in locations including Las Vegas but due to Covid, this had to be postponed. Now, Hannah resides next to a fjord in Norway where she has been writing and recording new music while the music industry eagerly awaits its reopening.

Emer Dunne Announces New Single ‘Daisy’ + Stunning Cover Songs, Ahead of New Album.

Emer Dunne announces brand new music taken from her upcoming long-player album, Hourglass. Original song ‘Daisy’ will be available for download on MARCH 26th (with all Profits to Irish Cancer Society) + Cover songs: ‘The Parting Glass’ and ‘Wild Mountain Thyme’

Laois based singer, Emer Dunne, who is due to release the first single, Daisy, on March 26th from her astounding new album entitled, Hourglass has decided to donate all the profits from her single to a charity close to many of our own hearts, The Irish Cancer Society.

March 2020 saw a change across many parts of the world. We have all been affected and many of our great charities have suffered as a result of not being able to run the fundraising events of the past.

“ I didn’t set out to record a song for charity. I was just working on this album and the way things went this past year the release was delayed. The date was then set for March 26th and when I discovered this was also Daffodil Day, I decided that during these difficult times perhaps I can give something back. Everyone knows someone who has had to suffer at the evil hands of cancer. On a personal note, I have three aunties and an uncle who all suffered from Cancer and my mother is currently battling this illness.  I have watched her bravery over the past few months and observed first hand the fantastic work and support given by The Irish Cancer Society”.

‘Daisy’ is a positive uplifting song where the singer is reminding ‘Daisy’ that all people don’t view the world in the same way and as the lyrics state, “people don’t think like you do and some don’t think at all.”  The track is written by Scottish songwriter, Karine Polwart, and the song struck a chord with Emer. She immediately took it to her producer, Bill Shanley (who works with Mary Black & Gilbert O Sullivan etc). Emer knew it would be one of the ten tracks to make its way onto her new album.  A talented songwriter in her own right, Emer could relate to the lyrics of this song, and with Bill Shanley at the helm she could see the opportunity for bringing a unique and vibrant arrangement to it.

Daisy’ was recorded between Dublin and London with Bill Shanley, Andrew Holdsworth, Colin Farrell and Jonathan Owens. The song is available to purchase on digital platforms including iTunes & Amazon music, for only €1.29. Please tell your friends and help raise money for much needed cause.

Daisy is part of a radio sampler pack which also includes cover songs of Irish favourites ‘The Parting Glass’ and ‘Wild Mountain Thyme’, performed beautifully by Emer

Ann Scott Releases New Single ‘River’ Ahead of Album Lily

Single release –  ‘River’ – Friday March 26th
The second single from Ann Scott’s forthcoming album, River is about the relentless nature of everything..

“the constant speed, the burn out we all know too well from our modern existence,” says Scott “and how little things can accumulate all together into something bigger than ourselves.”

River is mixed and mastered by Karl Odlum who also contributes guitars, bass and drum programming.

Her forthcoming studio offering, Lily, comprises eleven songs recorded over a mixed period of solitude and transformation, with recent history including re-location to the Irish countryside, giving birth for the first time, and now a year marked by lockdowns and social isolation.  Not by co-incidence then, Lily is a largely solo and sparse affair, featuring just a handful of usual collaborators and includes themes ranging from motherhood and family, to dementia, loneliness, burnout and hope.

What some of the critics have to say

“An inventive, literate and poetic voice” —Tony Clayton Lea- Irish Times

Not one of the highly hyped songwriters but definitely one of the most talented” – Dan Hegarty – 2FM

“A sublime, special collection. Rooted in dreamy melodies, Scott’s voice part Harriet Wheeler part Beth Orton is a rare beauty soaring on hot day and she jubilee and should deservedly gain her a lot of critical attention”. – Sinead Gleeson – U Magazine

Lewis Barfoot Announces Glenaphuca Album Release: 5th March 2021

“What a beautiful, beautiful voice she has, just gorgeous” – Eve Blair, BBC Radio Ulster

‘Lewis Barfoot’s voice is a balm for the soul’ – Lilian Smith Rte Radio 1

“Beautiful ethereal poise in her crystal singing voice” Folk and Honey

Glenaphuca is the debut album by Irish/English singer and multi-instrumentalist Lewis Barfoot, due for release on 5th March 2021. Glenaphuca features the recent singles Fisherman and Sweet Dreams as aired on RTÉ and BBC Radio. Fisherman is accompanied by a stunning animated music video made by acclaimed Korean visual artist Narae Kim which premiered at Cork International Film Festival in November 2020 and is now screening at both London and Chicago Irish Film Festivals.

Glenaphuca is an album full of evocative, autobiographical songs that speak of Lewis’ wish to unearth the legacy of her family roots in Ireland and is a mix of original compositions and reinventions of traditional songs from Ireland and England. Recent single Fisherman perfectly represents Lewis’s effortless interweaving of the traditional and the original; an original composition by Lewis that infuses a melody from the traditional Irish song Dúlamán.

Elsewhere she beautifully performs traditional English folk song The Fox and gives a stunning rendition of the traditional Irish tune from Connemara, Amhrán Fosuíochta. Other original compositions include the captivating Sister Lover and the elegiac lament for Lewis’s mother White Dress. A timeless  gifted storyteller who transports the listener to strange, magical, otherworldly places. Frequently compared to the likes of Ane Brun and Joni Mitchell, her first EP Catch Me was described by Irish Radio International as “Delicious music: A massage of the heart, a whisper to the soul”.

Glenaphuca was produced by Lewis at Soup Studios, London and mastered by Pete Maher. Glenaphuca features guest musicians Elisabeth Flett (Fiddle, Backing Vocals) Matt Dibble (Clarinet, Piano), Hannah Thomas (Cello, Backing Vocals), Maria Rodriguez Reina (Cello), Ansuman Biswas (Percussion) and Jonny Huddersfield Helm (Drums). Having previously performed alongside Bróna McVittie in Irish folk ensemble Rún, Lewis has since cut her teeth as a solo artist on the London folk circuit, appearing regularly for institutions such as Nest Collective. Lewis has recently moved back to her maternal home of Ireland and is happily settled in Cork.

Irish Troubadour Robert John Hope Announces New Music

‘None Other’, the first single from Robert John Hope’s debut album ‘Plasticine Heart’ is an electro pop/rock song about trying to move on from regretful experiences, and having to deal with the eventual consequences in one form or another set to be released Jan 29th 2021.

Recalling close friendships gone bad, relationships destroyed for whatever reason, and other shameful things done in the past, all of which can come back to haunt you in some way, the song explores the idea that you can’t escape your past.

Robert John Hope is an Irish, Berlin based singer-songwriter whose music is rooted in ambient folk and alternative pop/rock. In Ireland, he will be known mostly as the man with the distinctive voice and poetic lyrics who fronted the band Senakah, with whom he toured Ireland, the UK and US extensively in the past. He is now back with his debut solo album ‘Plasticine Heart’.

In his musical career to date he can look back on an range of international press commentary – the British Mail On Sunday described him as having a vocal range veering from “Matt Bellamy style dramatics, to Eddie Vedder and Thom Yorke”, while Hotpress Magazine described his vocals as “ethereal”.

From 2007 to 2014, Hope performed mainly as the frontman of Senakah, with the second of their two albums ‘Human Relations’ being produced in 2011 by Noel Hogan of The Cranberries. On extensive tours of the US, they performed over 300 concerts across 40 States with acts such as Arrested Development and the late Bernie Worrell, also performing at the legendary Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood, and at the South By Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas.

Hope’s debut solo album ‘Plasticine Heart’, to be released on April 23rd, 2021, developed over a couple of years during which he released his first solo EP ‘The Unravelling’ in 2018. The album’s title for him reflects the changes one invariably goes through as time passes, and for better or worse the malleable nature of perspective, and the human heart. ‘None Other’ is released on Jan 29th 2021 across all digital platforms.

Concerts for summer and autumn 2021 are currently being planned, Covid permitting.
