Julie and Shaun, an acoustic folk duo hailing from Northern Ireland, first met after both placed separate online ads seeking other musicians to collaborate with. Immediately after meeting, their connection was instant and their understanding of one another’s musicality was obvious.

They draw influences from fellow luminaries such as PJ Harvey, Damien Rice, Lisa Hannigan, Grant Lee Buffalo, Aldous Harding and Mogwai. The pandemic gave the band the opportunity to evolve their collaboration and musicality. Their first track, Beneath What We Become, aims to set the tone of what you can expect, which is a sonic journey of lush melodies and vocals.

As the melodic fingerpicking moves along, you’re taken on a journey. The Cello contributes depth and emotion, leading us to the vocals. A conversation between two souls, on a different wavelength, is reflected in these honest words. They talk about how their future will unfold as they walk together. – Shaun

In December 2021, they recorded their track ‘Beneath What We Become’ at Greene Noise Audio in Lurgan. With the help of engineer Matt Greene, they will record their debut album here. April 29th marks the release date of the new single, be sure to check out the band on their links below.
