Double A Single: Sweet Dreams  & The Fox

Best known for the ethereal poise of her crystal singing voice, Lewis Barfoot announces her first new releases of 2021 from her upcoming long player. Sweet Dreams / The Fox is the new single by Irish/English singer and multi-instrumentalist Lewis Barfoot, due on 29^th January 2021. Sweet Dreams / The Fox follows recent single Fisherman (November 2020), and are also taken from the debut Lewis Barfoot album Glenaphuca due in March 2021.

When asked about the single Lewis explains “this pairing of songs is a duet of love songs to my parents. Sweet Dreams is an original composition, inspired by and dedicated to my dearly departed mother, presented alongside my arrangement of traditional English folk track The Fox, which my father used to play to me as a child”. Lewis’s stunning, crystalline vocal and deft, chamber folk arrangements call to mind modern stars such as Ane Brun and Lisa Hannigan as well as classic artists such as Joni Mitchell.

Sweet Dreams and The Fox were both produced by Lewis, recorded at Soup Studios, London and mastered by Pete Maher. Featuring guest musicians Matt Dibble (Clarinet), Hannah Thomas (Cello) and Jonny Huddersfield Helm (Drums).

Having cut her teeth on the London folk circuit, appearing regularly for institutions such as Nest Collective, Lewis has recently moved back to her maternal home of Ireland, and is happily settled in Cork.
