Carlsberg Cold Cans Exchange!!!

Tired of carrying bags of ice to and from your tent? Leave that with us.

Swap your warm cans of Carlsberg and Carlsberg Unfiltered for chilled one’s and head off to enjoy the festival thanks to the Carlsberg Cool Cans pop up, appearing for the first time at this year’s KnockanStockan festival.

Carlsberg Unfiltered

Carlsberg Unfiltered, the headline sponsor of KnockanStockan 2019 is back again, bigger and better this year, with a Danish inspired takeover. Carlsberg Unfiltered is inspired by Danish values of simplicity and connection with nature, and its name reflects how the lager is made. The brewers have removed the filtration process, which leaves more natural flavours and body in the lager and produces a premium, great tasting, cloudy pilsner with subtle floral and hop notes.

Carlsberg Unfiltered Stage

KnockanStockan are excited to have Carlsberg return this year to collaborate on an exciting venue space with a Danish twist. The Unfiltered stage is making a comeback where guests can sit and watch performance art, intimate collaborations, interviews, comedy by day and dance to some of Ireland’s finest DJ collectives play on a stage in the centre of the festivities.

The Carlsberg Danish Quarter

Sit back, relax and soak up the atmosphere the Danish Way.  The main bar, the Danish Quarter hosted by Carlsberg, will overlook the main stage so you can enjoy a few pints whilst soaking in the festival atmosphere. Skål!

The Vibes announce brand new single “Where I Wanna Be’ Out June 21st.

The Vibes are a six-piece Indie-pop outfit from Leitrim made up of members :
Leo Logan – Vocals Guitar
Gerard Bracken – Bass
Martin Raftery – Drums
Kiev Reynolds – Guitar
Ruairi Carty – Banjo/Mandolin
Joanne Logan – Vocals/Piano

They write infectious Indie-pop songs so it was no surprise when they became winners of the RTE 2fm song writing contest. ‘”Where I wanna Be” will be the band’s fifth single release with their previous 4 singles, “Head Over Heels”, “Just Another Love Song”, “You’ll See My Heart” and “Different Way Out” reaching Top 20 Chart status and critical acclaim.

The brand new single ‘Where I Wanna Be’ Out June 21st, was recorded and produced by Ger McDonnell (U2, Manic Street Preachers, Kasabian, Def Leopard , The Cure and The Frame) and The vibes in The Mill studio in Swords, Dublin. The band cites influences that range from The Killers, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Mumford And Sons, Snow Patrol to Chris Stapleton, Vince Gill and Foy Vance.

Leo from the band says: “Where I Wanna Be’ is meant to be a fun, summer-sing/along track that tells the story, of which I think nearly everyone goes through at some stage or another, where you fall for someone you shouldn’t, the result of which normally never ends well. However in some cases when its all over you realise how much you actually miss and need that person and how they are “where you wanna be”..

Acoustic Duo KC VIK announce new single ‘The Gamblers Partner’

Alt-folk/singer-songwriter Dublin based Acoustic Duo KC VIK announce new single ‘The Gamblers Partner‘ which is now available across all streaming sites. The duo consists of Ian Kinsella, a Kildare born musician of an Irish traditional back ground who was a  member of Gavin James’ Only Ticket Home Tour and Kaitlin Cullen-Verhauz from Manhattan, a classically trained cellist, graduating from music conservatory at age 18. She has performed both as a soloist and in various chamber ensembles in venues such as Merkin Concert Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Alice Tully Hall, Symphony Space, Weill Recital Hall, and Carnegie Hall.

KC VIK’s songwriting is powerful, and with their current goal to keep their sound as raw, edgy and real as possible, the pair create an incredibly full sound with just their instruments and no others and no extra layers. The end result of their debut release is a beautiful blend of very different learning curves leading to a very unique experience for the listener.

The pair have a cited a wide range of influences between them, absorbing as many genres as possible to broaden their spectrum of understanding and musical endeavours – Bob Dylan, Mstislav Rostropovich, Nickel Creek, Townes van Zandt, Solas, Lunasa, Yo-Yo Ma, James Taylor, Neil Young, The Grateful Dead, Fairport Convention and Moxie, to name but a few.

What you get here is stunning folk acoustic music at its best.

Acoustic troubadour Kenny Dread to release new track ‘Marvel’ on June 28th

Kenny Dread broke into the Irish radio landscape last year thanks to esteemed Radio 1 DJ John Creedon championing his wistful beach-bum memoir “Sexy Ranger” from the album “We Will Be Lovers”.

Now another track from that album gets its release: “Marvel” – which is an uplifting anthem powered by chiming 12-string guitars, CSNY style harmony vocals, a pumping beat, and electronic wobbles perfect for the festival season.

“Marvel” is a song all about the magic of loving your friends as they actually are, and loving yourself in the process.

You can check out the stream of Marvel here:

Kenny Dread studied composition with Steven Stucky at the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music before stage-diving into the 1980’s Washington D.C. punk-rock scene. He recorded gogo anthem D.C. Groove with Static Disruptors in 1982 and toured the East Coast with gogo punks Outrage until 1987.

The Static D’s and Outrage brought the funk to new-wave clubs like CBGB and Danceteria and had the skinheads skanking at hardcore hall shows.  Kenny Dread got his stage name touring and recording with the legendary Rastafari punk shaman H.R., lead singer of Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame Nominees Bad Brains. During the 80’s Kenny also produced records for D.C. punk groups, performed with nyabinghi reggae godfather Ras Michael, and recorded demos with English punk goddess Poly Styrene of X-Ray Spex.

The early 90’s found Kenny in the South of France performing with American expatriate rock band The Immigrants, and collaborating with members of that group to create his first solo foray, the dreamy folk-rock Walkin’ Down Your Street. A slow motion move to the West of Ireland inspired a more acoustic mode: The rootsy singer-songwriter album Powderhorn was released in 1997 with contributions from Asian-American guitar wizard Levi Chen and Windham Hill harpist Lisa Lynne, as well as a licensed adaption of poetry by Canadian author Michael Ondaatje. Kirtan yoga chanting became a major focus from the turn of the century: Kenny Dread co-founded and produced Chicago chant ensemble Devi 2000, and performed with kirtan dignitaries Dave Stringer and Bhagavan Das.

Chicago’s indie-rock and Americana scene inspired 2008’s Malastrana which featured guest performances by members of Wilco, Swell Season, and Califone. Years of residency led to full Irish citizenship in 2012, around the time Kenny guested as lead guitarist with Irish roots rockers The Calvinists. Kenny Dread dusted of Red With Wine an outtake from Malastrana for a rushed release in response to the war on music that was the Paris Bataclan tragedy. He recently produced the debut album of West Cork singer-songwriter Miranda McCarthy.
