THE RIPTIDE MOVEMENT rev up the heat with new single!
Never failing to impress with their raucous riffs and uplifting music, The Riptide Movement get ready to release a song that in many ways, will get your body moving & feet tapping. They also prepare to head off for a 12 date Tour of Germany, an Electric Picnic performance and more dates around the country, including a Single launch in Whelan’s on Sept 17th.
Described as Ireland’s answer to The Rolling Stones, The Riptide Movement (also known as TRM) are a four piece rock band who formed in 2006, all hailing from the Capital. With four successive Official Irish Charting singles, TV appearances and a handful on Radio performances on their belt, they are now ready to release fifth single ‘Hot Tramp’, which is taken from their new album set to be released in Feb 2011 (titled HOT TRAMP).
The track is a bass driven, blistering retro-sounding blues rock tune that positively embodies what this band are about. Drawing influences from Bruce Springsteen, The Strokes and early 1970’s rock and roll, this single is guaranteed to set impress.
GIGS: fresh from supporting DOVES at the Ben & Jerrys festival in London last month, The Riptide Movement invite you to ride the crest of a new wave: TRM will be embarking on a National & College tour in Sept before heading to Germany for a 12 date tour in OCT. The Single launch of HOT TRAMP will be held in Whelan’s on Friday The 17th of September. Before then, catch them live in TheElectric Picnic & The Temple House Festival.
