The Riptide movement (also known as TRM) are a four piece rock band who formed in 2006, all hailing from the Capital. With three successive Official Irish Charting singles (taken from their debut “what about the top jar”) along with over 14,000 units sold to fans the Nation over, they are now ready to release fourth single ‘HARD TO EXPLAIN’, which is taken from their new album set to be released in Feb 2011 (titled HOT TRAMP).

Gaining notable attention from publications such as The Star, The Mirror, the Sunday World, The Evening Herald, The RTE guide & Hotpress, it was landing the support for one of their earliest influences Fleetwood Mac at the O2, last year, that was the real high point for the band. A UK tour followed by national TV appearances contributed to the early success of their debut album ‘What about the tip jars?. The album was released on May 1st 2009 and impressively Charted at No.16 and No. 25 in the first two weeks of releasing, ahead of U2, Bell x1, and the Blizzards. Becoming the highest debut album charting for an independent band in Chart track history, with close to 3000 album sales! An Irish tour which took in over 30 shows including support slots with the Blizzards, Taste and James Yuill, two sold-out headline shows at the Village and with TV3 currently using the album as a soundtrack to Gaelic football and hurling broadcasts, The Riptide Movement have put in motion one of the most impressive rises to the top of the Irish music scene.

The Riptide Movement invites you to ride the crest of a new wave, back from the south of France and fresh from a recording spree in the Grouse Lodge recording studios, the bands are putting the finishing touches onto the eagerly anticipated follow up album “Hot Tramp”.

The band will perform a list of shows Nationwide including appearances at the Vantastival, Leixlip festival, Indiependence and Electric Picnic this Year, as well as a tour of Germany in October 2010. One of their strongest word of mouth endorsements IS their Live show. Surely not to be missed.
