The Hot Sprockets confirmed to perform on The Late Late Show on National TV Fri 20th of Sept.

Screenshot_18_06_2013_15_40The Hot Sprockets released their staggeringly cool country alt rocking Single ‘SOUL BROTHER’ to National acclaim. From being awarded Track of the week on Dublins 98 Fm to Single of the week on Today FM, The Hot Sprockets are winning over new fans at every roll of the dice. Hailing from the delta blues mecca that is…Dublin. They are five friends who came together with a shared love of Rock N’ Roll music. They have just announced that they will be playing this coming Friday on Rte’s The Late Late Show on National TV. (Fri 20th of Sept.)

A phenomenal live band, recent years has seen these smart blues-rockers play over 200 gigs including support slots with The Zutons, The View, Divine Comedy, Ida Maria, Peter Hook, Republic of Loose, BP Fallon and a rake of festivals including Indie-Pendence, Castlepalooza, Sea Sessions, Vantastival, Arthurs Day, Mannifest, Electric Picnic, a sold out show at The Roundhouse in London and headlining Whelans “One to Watch” festival.

Their music has been used on everything from Bulmers ad campaigns to BBC’s comedy “Fresh”, Irish film “Stitches” and RTE’s “RAW”. The band recently beat off 1000’s of bands to make it to the Hotpress “Play on the Day” final and got to grace the cover of Hotpress magazine. The bands video for “Cruisin’” was nominated for “Best video” & “Best group” at the Irish Music Television Awards.

The Hot Sprockets are living up to their early promise and stunning debut album (Honey Skippin’) by recording a mighty (yet unnammed) second album which is described as an album “to be listened to in the spirit in which it was made”. This album was recorded in Grouse Lodge, Windmill lane & Orphan Studios, it was produced by Gavin Glass and mixed by Declan Gaffney(U2) & Dougal Lott(Ray Davies) (release dat etbc).

Their kind of Rock N’ Roll music is haunted by the ghost of country and blues – take the good-time revolutionary spirit of MC5, simmer it down to the sounds of Crosby Stills Nash and Young, add some rough-edged Eagles of Death Metal and you are somewhere near the sonic nugget that is The Hot Sprockets.

Having already played pretty much every Irish festival so far this summer including a particularly amazing headline show at Knockanstockan The Hot Sprockets are a live show not to miss! With their brand new single ‘Comin’ On’ set to be released next month (accompanied by this genius video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_CmI4n5IPM) it’s only a matter of time before these guys are selling out venues all over the world. Furious Haze Salty Dog Stage Sunday 11 pm

Fresh from kicking up a rock and roll storm in Whelan’s just last week, The Furious Haze, are set to play the Salty Dog The Furious Haze EP coverStage at 11 pm Sunday. Having just got a taste of what these boys can do with their new single ‘Crazy Jane Hurricane’ hitting shelves and stations earlier this month we over at Goodseed are already addicted. The Furious Haze are a beer drinking, fist fighting, working class man’s rock group with a rhythm section that you just can’t stand still too. This is Dublin rock and roll at its very best. Billy Bragg Electric Arena Saturday 9.30 pm

Billy Bragg_MG_8463A credit Andy Whale“Now this is one where also there is a lot of audience participation. This being folk music, I’ll play this old folk song and you all sing on the chorus. So I’ll see you at the chorus” queue one of the most iconic English folk songs in the not so distant history ‘A New England’. It has been almost 30 years since Mr. Bragg released that song (Now doesn’t that make some of us feel old) and yet here in 2013 Billy Bragg is as relevant as ever. Earlier this year he released his latest album Tooth and Nail exploring more of his Americana and Country inclination. With more experience in the music industry than our entire top picks so far combined, Billy Bragg, is a seasoned campaigner with a live show equaled by no one. Catch him at the Electric Arena Saturday from 9.30 pm.

Ocean Color Scene Main Stage Saturday 2.30 pm

Celebrating 24 years in business this summer, these Brit Pop veterans have been Marchin’ Already since 1989. With a career spanning five top ten albums, one of which even toppled the almighty Oasis from the number 1 slot in 1997, OCS are definitely on our ‘moments not to miss’ list for this year’s Electric Picnic. Having spent the year so far touring their brand new album Painting Ocean Color Scene will play the main stage at Stradbally before embarking on a massive UK tour. Don’t miss their only Irish date this year as they hit the main stage of Electric Picnic at 2.30 pm Saturday.
