LUCY SPRAGGAN announces Christmas Single ‘Drink ‘til We Go Home’ Out Dec 15th
For Lucy Spraggan, 2017 has been a year to remember. The singer-songwriter netted her fourth top 40 album and followed that success with more than 22,000 ticket sales across her UK and European tours.
I Hope You Don’t Mind Me Writing charted at number 12 in the Official Top 40 Album Chart on release in January. The album, the second under her own label – CTRL Records – was described as ‘a triumph’ by The Sun.
Now Lucy is back with the rousing Christmas single ‘Drink ‘til We Go Home’, sparking memories of great Christmas tracks from the Pogues and Slade complete with a catchy sing-along edge classic to Spraggan’s style. Lucy says, ‘I grew up on the music of Kirsty MacColl and wrote this song as an homage to her talent and vivacity.’
The single is out on December 15th, the same day Lucy performs to a sold out cave in the middle of rural Derbyshire. The one-off Christmas show at Peak Cavern in Castleton sold out in the first 24 hours.
The video for the single is out on December 1st. Lucy explained, ‘I basically got a bunch of friends into an empty pub, put a bit of cash behind the bar and left the cameras rolling.’
The results are perfect, with a video sure to get the country into the Christmas spirit on its release.
This Christmas, let’s drink ‘til we go home.
