PENROSE:

NEW SINGLE: LETS GO OUT
Rel date: OUT JUNE 30TH

Irish Indie-Pop five piece Penrose, with front man Darragh McGrane at the helm, are set to release their new single “Lets Go Out” on June 30th with a headline date at Whelan’s, Dublin.

Described as ‘a solid Indie Pop band with catchy uplifting indie songs and anthems that have “attitude” and stick in your head’, their new single doesn’t fall off the mark. Mixing the ease & harmonies of The Beatles / ELO, the snarling vocals of Richard Ashcroft and the rhythmic acoustic guitars of great Brit Pop, Penrose are a truly powerful force…live and on record.
The band successfully unveiled their debut EP “Live for the Dream” which charted at NO.3 in the Irish charts to a sell out house of fans & media. Followed up by a critically acclaimed single ‘MELODY’ which charted at No. 10 in the Irish charts and was picked up by all Irish national radio stations such as Today FM, FM 104 and RTE, with TV appearances to on RTE’s TwoTube, the band then followed this up with yet another sell out show to their home fans in Dublin’s Academy 2 venue. Penrose were invited to the UK by one of the industries most illuminated music managers Alan Mc Gee – to play gigs as part of the ‘Musicians against Homelessness campaign’. The band supported one of their main influences Aslan, as part of the ‘Made in Dublin’ Revisited gigs in Vicar Street last Dec. With a brand new single on the horizon and s string of Summer Festival dates, it looks to be an exciting time for the band.

The band: The band consists of Caolan Fitzsimons (rhythm guitar), Mark Bolger (bass), Benji Hayes (Keys) and drummer Donal Bowens complementing McGrane’s lead vocals and lead guitar.

Deltiimo v George Rigby v Naïf “Hold On It’s A Beautiful World” Single Announced

HOPE – POSITIVITY – TOMORROW – INSPIRATIONAL – SHARE – MOTIVATE – DJs + MUSIC = A BETTER WORLD.
This collaboration from Deltiimo v George Rigby v Naïf “Hold On It’s A Beautiful World” offers contemplation that a song like this, given the necessary broadcasting ‘air’, can lift people to stand strong in their lives against insurmountable odds or the feeling that the goodness of their world, our world, is slipping away from them.
DJ’s have been 100% instrumental in changing the world many times during difficult periods for humanity. Look at the incredible role DJs and dance music played in bringing peace to Northern Ireland where before religion and politics failed fatally. The young of the two sides of fighting parents met on dancefloors around the country fell in love over dance music positive lyrics like Rozalla – Everybody’s Free (To Feel Good), or Sabrina Johnson “Peace (In The Valley), they had hidden relationships until babies were being born from their love.
Those young dance music loving parents voted for a different future for their babies, teaching their own ‘confused’ parents a lesson in human compassion. Dance music stopped the war, literally.
“Hold on it’s a beautiful world” is George Rigbys offering. It is now available across all digital platforms.

‘MARIA DOYLE KENNEDY’ …announces new single ‘PRIDE’ OUT JUNE 10th, 2017.

Maria Doyle Kennedy, the Irish luminary, singer, writer, actor and filmmaker, announces the release of her brand new single ‘Pride’ taken from her forthcoming album (title yet to be announced) to be released later this year. ‘Pride’ is not so much a call for tolerance as a bald statement of common sense set to a back projection of deeply moving acoustic rhythm. It will be released on June 10th 2017 via Mermaid Records. Says Maria of the songs context: “The idea that 2 people find love with each other and want to celebrate and share that… I can never understand why there would be an objection to more joy in the world… why some folks feel that they need to sit in judgement of others and that they may prescribe how others should love and live. I believe that the freedom to declare and celebrate your love with your chosen partner (as long as it’s their choice too!) is a human right”.

Maria’s recent TV acting credits include Orphan Black (for which she won 2 Canadian Screen Awards) and Redwater. Recent films include Sing St and The Conjuring 2. Maria has also starred as Katherine of Aragon, nanny to the son of a serial killer and the estranged wife of the lovely Mr Bates from the three award-winning television series, The Tudors, Dexter and Downton Abbey. Most recently she has completed work on her own film A Different Kind of Day.

In May 2014 Maria featured on the album “Printer Clips” with Paul Noonan, Joan As Policewoman and Martha Wainwright amongst others. Prior to that she released Critically acclaimed album “Sing in 2012 that featured duets with Damien Rice, Paul Brady and John Prine. Maria sang live with Snow Patrol in 2011 and 2012 and has spent more than two decades performing all over the world.  On her new 13-track album, Maria’s ever evolving artistry explores the human condition and parts of the American landscape, its political spectrum along with it’s people, their harsh realities, emotions and a lingering hope delivered in a tone halfway between Patti Smith and Dusty Springfield. Upcoming single ‘Pride’ was written by Maria Doyle Kennedy and Kieran Kennedy. Produced by Kieran Kennedy. Recorded and Mixed/Mastered by Rob Kirwan in Dublin, Ireland.

ELEPHANT reveals Music Video for brand new Single “Waiting Game”

ELEPHANT announces brand new single: “WAITING GAME” OUT MAY 12TH

Official Video :

Having made a folk album the first time round, ‘HyperGiant’, Elephant sheds his skin and moves on towards a new prowess of sound on his new album (Title TBC) set to be released in the Summer of 2017. Heavily influenced by two of his favourite artists who have recently passed, David Bowie and Prince, it is his personal dedication to them, synth bells and saxophones in toll. If HyperGiant was a coming of age folk album then this new album is his “breakup record”.  A departure from the quiet vistas of the acoustic and entering a busier, sweatier suburb full of wannabe actors and sweatband solos.

‘Waiting Game’ is a song about that very thing; moving on, and in its case, making a mountain out of it.  Have you ever been stuck?  You know exactly where you want to go and what you’re going to do when you get there but you just can’t figure out your first step…if you could only make that first step, momentum would get you the rest of the way. “I decided to step outside my comfort zone and make the album I really want to make. Waiting Game is my first step”. – Shane Clarke, aka Elephant.

Elephant, the musical vehicle of Dundalk based multi-instrumentalist Shane Clarke has three variations; playing the same set but with different musical and vocal arrangements, making for intriguing live shows. Elephant may be a soloist looping effected guitars and vocals to create lush, layered music. A duo, offering intimate acoustic guitar, piano and synthesizer, tied with colourful melody and harmonies. Or the newest venture, Elephant as a full band. The full band line-up includes Paul Finn, Paul Mallon and Paul Carolan of The Flaws and Shane O Hanrahan of Norabelle. Songs wander from an instantaneous summery folk pop reminiscent of Badly Drawn Boy and Elliot Smith, to more mature meandering pieces with a deliberate deconstructed nature, akin to say…Broken Social Scene, Justin Vernon or Joanna Newsom.

Elephant has rightly garnered much praise on the live front with his earnest vocal delivery and unique lyrical style capturing audiences and securing him performances with Martha Wainwright, Alexis Taylor, Lisa Hannigan, most of the country’s top festivals including Electric Picnic, Independence and Body & Soul and return trips to the Other Voices Music Trail in Dingle.

On the back of his critically lauded debut album “HyperGiant”, Shane is working on the follow-up, expected summer 2017. ‘Waiting Game’ is the first track from the new album and is released May 12th.
