ELEANOR MCEVOY ALONE IN THE STUDIO, HER MUSIC STRIPPED TO THE BONE, now takes her critically acclaimed album Naked Music to the open Road Nationwide.

“As evocative as ever” THE STAR

“A refreshing perspective on some truly durable and enjoyable tunes from McEvoy’s canon” THE IRISH TIMES

“An intimate set of 14 songs that underline her songwriter talent” THE EVENING HERALD

Released earlier this year on 12th February 2016, Naked Music is the title of Eleanor McEvoy’s new album, recorded alone in the studio to create an intimate collection of her music at its most raw – one instrument, one voice, performed live. Best known for her songs Sophie, Harbour, The Secret of Living and of course Only A Woman’s Heart, Eleanor’s latest album features exclusive artwork by the famed painter Chris Gollon. Back in February, Eleanor presented her new show “Naked… Live”.

The seeds for Eleanor and Chris’ artist collaboration were sown after Eleanor bought Chris’ painting ‘Champagne Sheila’ after spotting it in a London gallery. Before leaving, Eleanor left some of her music for Chris and his agent to listen to. Eleanor was, at the time, finishing some recording where she was “studio-performing”, playing hers and others’ songs as she might at her solo shows. The recordings have a very exposed intimacy, so it seemed a possibility that Chris should be asked to do a painting for the cover in this solitary context.

As a body of work, Eleanor’s recordings acquired the name ‘Naked Music’, which would give a better focus to the two artists’ desire for mutual expression. Being offered this title, and with some song suggestions, Chris was so taken with the songs he completed four paintings in response – two on the ‘Naked’ theme, and two others related to song titles and lyrics. The first ‘Dreaming of Leaving’ was written by Eleanor and Lloyd Cole. The other ‘Lubbock Woman’, a downtrodden cameo, is a song by West Texan legend Terry Allen. The paintings were such a hit, that all four talked their way into the Naked Music

The images, the CD artwork, sat in pride of place in the Metropolis Studio and exerted some influence on the mastering and final track order.

Now McEvoy takes these naked songs on the road Nationwide.

“I Want to wish Nigel the very best of luck this coming Sunday in the semi’s, he is one of our finest musicians and I am delighted his talent is shining bright now to the Nation! VOTE Nigel!” Linda Coogan Byrne MD @ GSPR

Nigel Connell was born into a musical family of two brothers and two sisters. He is the youngest of five and once he could walk, it meant he could talk and eventually sing, so into the family band he went and it was here where his skills as a Drummer and Singer developed. His first Live performance was at the age of 13 in the family band, he later joined the The Legendary Cotton Mill Boys and went on his first tour at the age of 15. Addicted to the stage, Nigel went on to play with Top Irish Acts like Matt Leavy, TR Dallas, Sean O Farrell and Marc Roberts. Playing Support to legendary Music luminaries such as Tammy Wynette, Don Williams, Ricky Skaggs, Johnny Cash, June Carter, Martina MC Bride, Randy Travis, Vince Gill, Steve Earle, Glen Campbell & John Denver.

No stranger to performing on national Television, Nigel has performed his musical skills on a variety of Irelands finest:  Live at Three, Up for the Match, Kenny Live, Nationwide, The Late Late Show, Phil Coulter and The Bibi Baskin Show. Nigel has also performed on radio Nationwide such asRTE Radio 1, 2fm, Phantom FM and Dublin’s Country to name but a handful.

By his 20’s Nigel was well accustomed to the Country Music Scene, but decided it was time for a change and began touring with Eurovision Winner Linda Martin. Upon hearing Nigel’s remarkable vocal talent, the now infamous music manager Louis Walsh encouraged Nigel to enter the Eurosong Contest in 1999, where he reached the Final in Ireland but sadly didn’t reach the Eurovision. The experience was nonetheless enough incentive for Nigel to begin work on his own recordings and so began Nigel’s own singing and songwriting career. Nigel soon got the starring Role on Rebecca Storms ‘Streisand songbook’ and Performed alongside Rebecca in Dublin’s Gaiety Theatre for Ten Shows. He then Toured Ireland from:The Cork Opera House to The National Concert Hall Dublin. Where he performed Live on the Phil Coulter RTE special in 2007. (Phil Coulter being a fan of Nigel’s remarkable voice said “Nigel sounds so much like Neil Diamond”

It is only fit that now Ireland is widely supporting one of its greatest musical assets, from local and National press hailing him as the one to watch in the semi’s this Sunday at 6.30pm on Rte 1!984087_10209443489472465_1454585502812161229_n

LOUDEST WHISPER

EP RELEASE: “LOUDEST WHISPER” REL DATE: MAY 6TH

+ BACK TO BASICS TOUR ANNOUNCED!!!

Loudmouth Poster

“A Band that has consistently produced fine and passionate music over the years and captured the imagination of collectors world wide”. – Record Collector

An exhilarating blend of folk, rock and blues with injections of Celtic folklore and mysticism – In many ways Loudest Whisper could be called the O’Reilly Brothers Band, as Brian and Paud O’Reilly have been the cornerstone on which the Loudest Whisper legacy has been built. Formed in the early 1970s, they are best known for their 1974 debut album, The Children of Lir, a folk opera based on the Irish legend of the same name – the album became one of the most sought after records in Ireland, and ranks among the top 100 rarest records in the world.

Heavily influenced by American folk-rock groups like The Lovin’ Spoonful and The Mamas & the Papas, they are always innovative in demonstrating their creativity whether working on their Operatic scale stage productions like “The Children of Lir” and “Buskin” or the solid Folk/Rock/blues band, we know today as Loudest Whisper. The name “Loudest Whisper” was chosen to reflect both sides of their music, “the folky and the heavy”.

Consisting today of Brian O’Reilly – Guitars, piano and vocals, Paud O’Reilly – Drums and vocals and Paul McCartthy – Bass – the band have just announced the release of an EP ‘Loudest Whisper” celebrating their decorated 45 years in Music and their upcoming National Tour “The Back to Basics” tour which will see the three piece band set up around the country in various establishments playing old and new.
