International Pop Star Emin releases new single “Footsteps” on Feb 20th 2015

International singer Emin photohas performed at some of the world’s most sought-after events, including the 2014 Sochi Olympics, the Miss Universe global telecast and Eurovision Song Contest. After a prestigious win at the 2014 World Music Awards, iTunes USA, the world’s biggest music site, named Emin’s first single, “Amor,” one of its Hot Summer Singles.

On February 20th 2015 Emin will release his, first ever, Irish single “Footsteps” on iTunes. It is a heart-felt infectious anthemic track with a simple message, a sweet melody served on a plate of pop.

The single is taken from Emin’s forthcoming album “More Amor “ which will be released on iTunes in March, 2015 on Saffron Music, published by Sony ATV and distributed by ADA/Warner Music.

“more…AMOR” will be Emin’s seventh English language CD and was written and recorded in New York City. Emin co-wrote most of the songs with writers from Dee Town Entertainment and UK hit-makers Paul Barry and Jamie Scott — who wrote One Direction’s recent worldwide hit, “Story of My Life.” The album also features a track by Grammy Award winning producer and mixer Tony Maserati. Tony’s hits include Beyonce’s “Dangerously in Love”, Lady Gaga’s “Marry the Night”, Marc Anthony’s “I Need to Know” and tracks for many other top hit makers.

The new album, “more AMOR” explores diverse avenues from pop dance tunes to beautiful ballads: there is a Maroon 5 vibe on songs like ‘Boomerang’, the lush orchestral single ‘Woman’ the sultry and the sexy Latin flavoured ‘Amor’. All these tracks showcase a voice that already sounds classic: yearning, strong and emotional with flavours of Chris Martin or early Paul McCartney.

“This past year has been just unbelievable, winning a World Music Award, Golden Gramophone Award and taking my music to Europe… just incredible,” says Emin.

Emin will be undertaking a European promotion tour in February with showcases confirmed in Paris, Madrid and London and further European promotion in Germany, Holland and Ireland. See www.emin-music.com for all details.

Colin Deady Press Shot 1COLIN DEADY

SINGLE: ‘THINGS I LOVE THE MOST’ OUT FEB 20TH

Album: ‘Out of the Blue’ OUT March 20th

GIG: SINGLE PRE- LAUNCH SHOW -JAN 29TH DE BARRAS, CLONAKILTY

Singer Songwriter & multi instrumentalist Colin Deady is due to release his Debut Album “Out of the Blue” in March 2015. The album is a collection of 13 songs, an emotional & nostalgic album that defies an easy pigeonhole. Showcasing his ability as a songwriter with beautifully crafted ballads like “Chapel Street” to soulful & bluesy single “Things I love The Most” all blending skillfully into a seamless flow ‘The songs are all about the vocals & lyrics’ says Colin and this is where he hopes the record shines, featuring four part harmonies in many of the songs. ‘I love the human warmth that vocal harmonies can bring to a song, that sense of togetherness, there’s nothing like it’

Lyrically the songs address themes relevant to the human condition…love, hope, mortality, time & human resilience. Colin says ‘there comes a time when we’ve all got to make our way across that wild river. Whether you’re lucky enough to saddle a horse or just wade in the deep doesn’t matter. All that counts in the end is that you get across relatively unscathed’.

Growing up in a 3 bedroom council house with seven siblings, one record player and two records meant only one thing. If you wanted to listen to that record you had to fight for it! Leaving school at the age of 15 Colin began to teach himself how to play guitar. ‘We had very little money and I remember a dark morning in a wet & cold December in 1995 being given a few quid to get the bus from my home town Skibbereen to Cork to buy some desperately needed clothes! Anyway, long story shortened, I came home that evening dressed in the same rags and a brand new guitar! It cost £40 back then and was horrendous to play but I didn’t know any better at the time nor did I care, and anyway it looked nice. I spent that golden age in my bedroom listening to records & figuring out everything by ear’.

It wasn’t until 2004 that Colin began to write his own songs. ‘In the summer of 2004, I had a creative explosion out of nowhere hence the album title Out Of The Blue (that & the fact that I was born blue) I began writing my own songs many of which feature on this album. The fermenting process of an unconventional childhood & a host of life’s challenges somehow transformed into something meaningful & poured out on to the page’ Colin went on to release an EP in 2006 entitled ‘Making Tracks’ and began gigging regularly to master his craft, playing support to twice winner of the Meteor award in the Best Folk/Trad category, Cork’s own John Spillane, who said that Colin had a “lovely touch on the guitar”.

In 2010 he came second in one of the most recognised song-writing competitions in the country, the Sean McCarthy Ballad Competition. In 2012 Colin released his debut single ‘Season’s Tide’, which was shortlisted for the Christie Hennessy Songwriting Competition sponsored by IMRO in Tralee. Since then he has been working on recording his debut album, which is out March 2015.

The Rising have a new single out “Calling You”

Single: “Calling You” Out Now on iTunes

Taken from the album Coming Home which is out now!

As you’d expect from a band who share their moniker with a Bruce Springsteen album, The Rising play impassioned guitar-charged rock, shot through with a smart pop sensibility and everyman lyrical sentiments wholeheartedly expressed. The kind of thing, in fact, that has made The Boss such an endearing global figure. Then there’s the Nashville influence – listen hard and you can hear the polished country nuances of Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum and the multi-million unit shifting Taylor Swift.

Just as their native Belfast reinvented itself after more than three decades of being a bad news story, so The Rising have emerged from the ashes of another band, EXIT. Then a four-piece, they released a brace of well-received EPs and were championed by Kerrang magazine, who applauded their “enormous, stadium-seeking choruses” and a sound “as outsized as a monster truck at Kwik-Fit”. Classic Rock went further, exclaiming: “You can imagine watching this band on stage in a 20,000-seater arena with the crowd singing along to every word.” The quartet paid their dues on the live circuit, supporting the likes of Starsailor, Twin Atlantic, Journey South, Aslan, Sweet Savage and former Mama’s Boys frontman Pat McManus.

So why the name change? Simple – EXIT wanted to make music that was less rowdy and more refined, to replace the overt rock mannerisms with subtle pop stylings. With the line-up reduced to a leaner trio – singer Tristan Harris, guitarist Chris Logan and bassist Andy Morgan. Logan acknowledged the new roots-based direction, adding banjo and mandolin to his repertoire of instruments and so The Rising were born.

Their debut album is already in the can. Coming Home was recorded in Belfast, Nashville and Los Angeles, by several different producers, among them Grammy Award-winning engineer Hank Williams, renowned for his work with the aforementioned Urban and Swift, as well as Brad Paisley. It affirms that The Rising know their way around the sort of big and beautiful hooks that slay the masses, the sort of hooks that are both exhilarating and elevating – sustenance for the soul.

Maverick magazine have included a track from the album on a cover mount CD, lauding its “contemporary vibe, bubbling banjo undercurrents and guitar-driven arrangement reminiscent of one of Keith Urban’s many hits”. And it’s not just the critics that are taking notice of The Rising. American singer-songwriter Matthew Ryan – currently collaborating on a project with The Gaslight Anthem – was so impressed by their YouTube videos, he asked them to record a song of his for the channel. And BBC Radio2 dj Graham Norton has been spinning their music                  too!

You get the sense that this is only the beginning of a really exciting journey.

ZERVAS & PEPPER

Single “WE ARE ONE” OUT 9.01.15

‘We Are One’ is the second single taken from the forthcoming Zervas & Pepper album. With its West-Coast Hippie/Dead-head anthemic chorus, the song drives home the message that loneliness is not an option and that together in the warmth of the sun we can all be something bigger than just one alone. ‘We Are One’ sees the band who are fresh from the UK festival circuit sounding like a Hi-Fidelity Fleetwood Mac / Jefferson Airplane hybrid.

Recorded in rural Mid-Wales at Giant Wafer studios with Llion Robertson on production duties, the band strive forward for what is to be their third album. Following on from the success of their 2013 album ‘Lifebringer’ the band continue to deliver their own brand of Cosmic Folk-Rock.

Their most recent single ‘These Blurred Lines’ spent 4 weeks on BBC Radio Wales and RTE 1 rotation playlists. BBC 6 Music’s DJ Don Letts gave his approval giving the band “Respect in every way”. BBC Scotland’s Ricky Ross comparing the band to West Coast sounds of Joni Mitchell’s LA Express.

SUTTER ZACHMAN releases his new EP in Ireland this January

SUTTER ZACHMAN’S REPEAT OFFENDER EP OUT this week 9.1.15 FROM MODERN ROOTS

‘Repeat Offender’ is Sutter Zachman’s 4-track EP that Modern Roots Music Co. has proudly released. The EP includes “Back To Sleep,” a song that has enjoyed airtime across Ireland from Rte to BBC and Regional Radio along with parts of the UK over the summer of 2014. Repeat Offender was produced by Modern Roots’ founder Jimmy Sloan who has worked with a broad range of artists including The Blind Boys Of Alabama, Fishbone, Weezer and Dave Alvin as producer and/or recording engineer. Dave Jerden (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane’s Addiction, Talking Heads) mixed three of the EPs four songs, all of which were recorded last year at Seahorse Sound in downtown LA.

Zachman, 26, a Southern California native, wrote all of the Repeat Offender material. A student of the songwriting of Nick Lowe, Van Morrison, Robbie Robertson and Ron Sexsmith, he signed his first major music publishing deal when he was barely out of his ’teens. One UK pundit said of Zachman that he is “blessed with a warm and woodsy voice that would have been right at home in 1970s Laurel Canyon…”

Sutter Zachman has developed his own sound while working at odd jobs in small towns across the country from Lawrence, KS to California’s Coachella Valley. Now that he’s based back in Los Angeles, he has reconnected with his roots and has been working with a group of top players who collaborated on the recordings including these Repeat Offender “co-conspirators”: Janson Mandell (bass, vocals), Cameron Meshell (drums, vocals, bass), Angela Russell (violin/vocals), Wallflowers/Foo Fighters’ Rami Jaffe (keyboards) Fishbone’s John Norwood Fisher (bass) and Gap Band veteran Victor Orlando (percussion). See www.sutterzachman.com for more info on this act.
