New single: ‘Strong Enough’

Out on iTunes July 26th

Taken from album: ‘Stronger’

Described by Nanci Griffith as “the sweetest voice of Ireland,”- Frances Black has recently released her brand new and 10th studio album ‘Stronger’, with the acclaimed producer and musician Bill Shanley, which has been receiving glowing reviews. One of Ireland’s best-loved and most enduring artists since the late 80s, with a string of best-selling albums, awards and other accolades behind her, Frances has just announced her second single ‘Strong Enough’, from the current album, which is a stunning cover of the well known Sheryl Crow classic.

Frances has twice been the recipient of one of the highest honours in Irish music, the prestigious Irish Recorded Music Association’s Best Irish Female Award. She was also delighted to receive a National Entertainment “Performer of the Year” award, because it has always been vitally important to her to connect with her audiences. In addition, the excellence of her live performances saw her receiving the “Best Solo Artist” and “Overall Winner” accolades at the Celtic Fusion Festival Awards, in conjunction with Irish Music Magazine, from over 40 nominated acts.

The new record is a collection of cover songs that equally inspired and resonated with Frances. It is her proudest work to date: “For years I have wanted to record cover versions of the songs that I love, written by great artists such as Richard Thompson, James Taylor, The McGarrigle Sisters, Carole King and many more. It was great working with Bill, he made it all so easy for me. I feel stronger and more passionate than ever about my music. This album is something I have wanted to do for a long time. I have loved and lived these songs, they all tell stories of my life.” The Single ‘Strong Enough’ will be out digitally via iTunes on July 26th.
