AMANDA PALMER TO RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘WANT IT BACK’ ON AUG 31ST

Single ‘Want It Back’ (FRYDL535)– out Aug 31st

Taken from Album ‘THEATRE IS EVIL’ (COOKCD571) Released September 7th

Singer, songwriter, piano-slayer, and blogger Amanda Palmer is preparing to release her first studio album in four years, Theatre Is Evil, on September 7th. This is the first release with her new band The Grand Theft Orchestra. The album release will be preceded by the single Want it Back on Aug 31st, and followed by a tour in Autumn.

Amanda Palmer & The Grand Theft Orchestra unleashed the new Want It Back music video on the Guardian website, offering another taste from the new album, Theatre is Evil.  The video is a stop-motion animated video created with Australian director Jim Batt, and shot in Melbourne when Palmer and her band were recording the new album this past spring. The video continues a strong visual art theme, incorporating her naked body as a canvas for hand-painted lyrics to unfold across the screen.

Body politics, and body pride, have always been a strong theme for Amanda: “I’m so comfortable being naked at this point that I almost forget… I’m also proud that that video has nudity, but it isn’t sexual or erotic…. it’s using the body as a raw canvas, which I love.”

“I’ve never made a video with such a small, concentrated art-crew, and it was magic,” she notes. “For three days straight it was just me, Jim, the tattoo-graffiti artist Curran James, and a painstaking process as we created the video, shot by shot by shot.” Jim Batt explains, “”Hand crafting a film frame-by-frame is always an intense experience, even more so when you’re using someone’s body as a canvas, but there’s something magical about stopmotion that you can’t capture any other way. I’m still impressed that we managed to get Amanda to sit still for that long, she was a champion!”

“Jim Batt is a visionary film artist, and I hope this video shines some light on the art-talent that’s hiding out in Melbourne,” says Palmer. “That city is harbouring some of the best creative minds in the world.”

Temper-Mental MissElayneous, rapper extraordinaire from Dublin has teamed up with Eberhart, Composer and Writer for Bitches With Wolves, together they wrote a song for Katie Taylor called “Step In the Ring”. MissElayneous, a boxer herself was feeling inspired by Ireland’s 4 time Word Champion Boxer Katie Taylor. Next month Katie is off to London for 2012 Olympics and Temper-Mental MissElayneous and Eberhart wanted to send her off for the GOLD in lyrical style. We wish Katie much success in her Olympian Quest with many well wishes. “…RIGHT, CROSS, UPPERCUT ,STEP IN WITH THE JAB, DUCK, WEAVE ,CHIN- TUCKED, MUSCLE THE UPPER-HAND…”

“Step In the Ring” can be downloaded for €1, with proceeds going to the Peter McVerry Trust for the Homeless http://www.pmvtrust.ie, on Bandcamp and coming soon on itunes, Temper-Mental MissElayneous will be performing at Festivals and venues throughout Ireland during Summer, Autumn and beyond. Up-dates on http://www.misselayneous.com/

“Temper-Mental MissElayneous” is an artist from Finglas in Dublin, Ireland. It’s difficult to box her into one category as she varies in her ability and style, however she is mostly recognised as a rapper. MissElayneous has collaborated with numerous other musicians and continues to branch out to create new work. She has trained as an actor and has performed in diverse roles, amid strong casts. MissElayneous is full of raps and ballads along with her bodhran and bells. She mentors youth in her community and has become a hero to many teenagers in Dublin.

Temper-Mental MissElayneous was recently on the cover of The Ticket in the Irish Times (for the St. Patrick’s Day special edition). Her song “Cailin Rua” was featured on St. Patrick’s Day. And she performed for President Michael D. Higgins at the Hot Press Music Show. MissElayneous has appeared on the same bill as Mick Jones, Tricky, Wu Tang Clan, Thee Satisfaction, and Shabazz Palaces. MissElayneous continues gigging, showcasing, auditioning, teaching and facilitating.

“Whether it was watching her freestyle on the street in Finglas or mentoring other female would-be rappers about their flow, she was on-point, lively and fascinating, one of the brightest sights and sounds on the Irish music scene right now. She’s the real deal.” Jim Carroll – Irish Times

Eberhart is an up-and-coming producer from Dublin, first coming to light through his songwriting and production work with Dublin-based electro-popster Bitches With Wolves.

Though classically trained from a very early age, stylistically his sound reflects a much wider musical spectrum. Influenced by pop producers Dr. Luke, Benny Blanco, RedOne, Max Martin and Kuduro inspired artists and producers such as Diplo, M.I.A, Buraka Som Sistema, Santigold, his is a style that combines pop hooks with fresh sounds, edgy production and stadium-size club beats.

The last few years has seen Eberhart touring as part of the Bitches With Wolves live band (Oxegen, Electric Picnic, Eurosonic, Fatboy Slim, Groove Armada, Calvin Harris, etc) as well as performing a number of high profile DJ sets under his own side project Gents With Guns with DJ Chris James (Oxegen, Two Door Cinema Club).

Over the last few months Eberhart has been songwriting, producing and remixing for some of Ireland’s most promising musical talent. He reached the Top 5 finalists in SPIN 103.8’s Mark Ronson “Move To The Beat” remix competition in June and had two tracks in the Top 5 iTunes album charts.

  • Temper-Mental MissElayneous will perform at Castlepalooza on the Marquee stage on Sat. Aug 4th at 7pm.

Link to Video: Ft. Cameos by the producer Eberhart, Louise McNamara from The Heathers -who sang back-up on the single, and Megan Gannon the boxer.  Director- Lindsey Byrne.

MARILYN MANSON AND ROB ZOMBIE JOIN FORCES
FOR “TWINS OF EVIL” U.S. AND EUROPEAN TOUR
KoRn’s Jonathan “J Devil” Davis will Provide Support on Many U.S. Dates

LOS ANGELES, CA (Thursday, July 12, 2012) — It had to happen.  Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie are hitting the road together this fall, co-headlining the “Twins of Evil” tour.  Debauchery, theatrics, ghoulish imagery, and a full-on assault of all the senses are what’s in store for fans when the tour kicks off, first in the U.S. and then with a 10-country sweep through Europe.

Kicking off September 28 when both Zombie and Manson co-headline the first day of the Desert Uprising Festival in Phoenix, Arizona, expect defiant rock’n’roll showmanship in the form of these unholy rollers with the first U.S. date wrapping in Dallas on Halloween, October 31. For ticket on sale and purchasing info, log onto www.marilynmanson.com or www.robzombie.com.

“Finally!  Why did the most obvious tour take so long to happen?  Who knows?  Who cares?  It’s happening now,” stated Zombie.  “If good taste is the chief enemy of great art, then we should be able to fill the Louvre with this fucking tour.  Be prepared for something wicked this way a-coming.”

“I have sympathy for the Whore of Babylon that gave birth to these twins of evil, and this abomination of a tour,” says Marilyn Manson“There is no babysitter, and there is no repairing her womb. If Rob Zombie doesn’t fuck you up, than I surely will.” “Hide all drugs and firearms… I’m coming to town,” Manson stated.

J Devil, the DJ alter ego of KoRn’s frontman Jonathan Davis, will support the Manson/Zombie dates with his chaotic electro-metal. “I like to think of JDevil as the ‘anti-christ’ of EDM,” he said. “To play alongside Zombie and Manson is going to be a fucking sinister night all around, and an unbelievable theatrical experience. I can’t wait.”

Marilyn Manson’s eighth full-length album Born Villain debuted in the Top 10 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart, also grabbing the #1 spots on both the Heavy Album Chart and the Independent Album Chart. “This is Manson at his best,” says ARTISTdirect. “Elegantly, he slices throats and puts up a middle finger to everyone once more.”

For the “Twins of Evil” tour, Zombie and his band of maniacs – John 5/guitar, Piggy D/bass and drummer Ginger Fish – will bring their elaborate, multi-media production, complete with hair-raising theatrics, animatronic robots, oversized LED screens, a non-stop collage of psychotronic monster film clips, a spectacular light show, a gigantic robot with flames shooting out of its body, pyrotechnics, insane guitar riffs and vicious beats.  On August 7, prior to the kick off of the “Twins of Evil” tour, Mondo Sex Head, an album featuring new and unique remixes of Rob Zombie classics by some of today’s top DJs, including KoRn’s Jonathan “JDevil” Davis, Photek, the Bloody Beetroots, †††, Kraddy, Drumcorps, and Ki: Theory will be released (Universal Music Enterprises/UMe).  Fans can download one of the new songs, “Thunder Kiss ’65 (J-Devil Number of the Beast Remix),” from iTunes.
